I'm pretty sure in his backstory, the guildmaster got strong by dying and rezzing a lot with rings then he found yandere women, they heard of his sad backstory, and they got rings too and abused the hell outta the rezzes to be super strong. The guild's just freaking out cuz they thought he destroyed all but one and the MC forbade them from abusing them anymore. But, now the MC's gunna use all the rings to power up like mad.

the rings given out by kuro were meant to protect the guild members, not to be used for gaining strength by death trial.
one of the members (lulu) states that she wont allow kuro to use the same method to become stronger, which was originally invented by kuro's and her master from another guild, seris.
i am not speaking against your perspective and prognosis, i just doubt that kuro is in a position to decide his own standing in the guild or whether he is allowed to leave or not.
my assumption so far is that the members wont let him.
