Hey everyone!
This series has just been licensed by MangaPlaza!
Normally, this wouldn’t mean anything for us, however, they have also batch released all the way up to chapter 80.
While we are quite torn about it, unfortunately, this does mean we are calling it off here. Ultimately, the goal we have when scanlating series is to bring attention to it and offer readers a way to read in English when it’s not otherwise possible. Neither of these are still needed now, and continuing doesn’t really sit right with us.
We hope you enjoy reading the next 28 chapters that are already out there much faster than we could ever have brought them to you, and please support the official release if you can!
Agasawa-sensei deserves all the love in the world. And look forward to the anime coming out next month! We can’t wait, and will likely be hosting a groupwatch in our discord server.
Thanks for reading with us until here, and thank you as well to No Time To Scanlate for doing the heavy lifting up to when we picked up.
We’ll see you in the next series, hopefully soon!

Dammit, they only offer the first 48 or so chapters for free right now (it looks like the first dozen or so are permanently free, the rest of them are only free until the end of April) and everything else is either pay-to-unlock or uses some sort of point system that they don't really seem to explain except that they have a promotion to get points for leaving reviews until the end of this month. Only you get just 10 points for a review of a series (not chapter) to a maximum of 500 points (50 reviews, which would honestly be kinda nuts to do since they are apparently checking for cheaty reviews that are overly brief or repetitive) and chapters of this require 89 points to unlock a chapter. So... quick math is that even if you could post 50 reviews and get the maximum benefit you'd only get maybe 6 added chapters to read, and reading everything in between where this TL is stopping and where mangaplaza has uploaded to would require almost 3000 points. And by money it's 89 cents US to read each chapter, so close to $30 to catch up.

I was hoping that this would be one of those "you can read all the fresh releases right now and then after that you could only read the most recent chapter or two without paying" setups like KManga and Viz and MangaUp have done. Instead the batch release seems designed to catch people in the trap of being unable to continue on with a series they may have been reading on a pirate site like MD.

EDIT: and just to make it sillier, I got a "your device is not supported" message that lets me look at what their requirements are (lol at a manga website having system requirements) and apparently they're only designed to function on Safari or Chrome as a browser. Imagine optimizing for just one browser per system type in 2026...

man, I just LOVE this manga. Thx for the translation!

It just feels like its real. I can totally imagine someone like Koyuki. All the way its written, its so good.

Koyuki situation sucks.

That being said
my bet: she cant see well and that's why the vibe is weird.
my bet still stands.

Edit: Just saw you guys arent translation anymore. Again, thanks a ton!

This + I understand the situation but sorry, if I have to buy it will be in my language (and a real volume, too).
Maybe I sound entitled but whatever, too many times scanlations stops because someone in the US got a license...but not all the readers are from there, you know

Thanks for the TL until now

Wow, that sounds kinda awful. I can only hope that another group starts scanlating or the release the volumes physically, since I'd be much more open to buying it in that case.

Yep 100%. As a non US person, there's a few series Viz has licensed for NA only, so I get left out in the cold.

Thank you very much Sho Habby Scans and No Time to Scanlate, this series has become one of my favorite romances to read on the last two years. The work you all have done is of great quality, and the experience of discovering and starting to read this series has been a great bliss.

There is the matter of the reading experience on the site/app (didn't see if they have an app yet) not being on par with reading the scanlation here on mangadex, the possibility of it not being available to certain regions. The ideal scenario would be for the work to be available on a well built sight/app, with consistent releases, good quality translation, global reach and affordable price. It isn't always like that (like Volundio or Girl Crush on Comikey for example...), to the point some groups start scanlating the series again.

I can't say yet what are my feelings with Mangaplaza, I started reading there in the last hour or so. The translation feels okay to me; Their lettering is good, at least so far; The reader isn't very good but isn't terrible (using Brave browser), there is the need to call their support to say that the reading orientation button isn't available on the browser reader for some reason (can only read on vertical here); The prices didn't feel steep (though that's always relative), their premium subscription 7 usd, with access to a library and bonus points. My writing may sound pessimistic, but that's how I usually am when trying a new service, very skeptical.

In the end I feel it's more that I'll miss the experience of reading the series here, the way we're used to. But I respect the group's decision, and again, I'm extremely grateful for your work so far and will be happy to follow other series you guys work on.

So as always, thank you very much for the scanlation. :bocchiwave:

Edit: I forgot to talk about the chapter!

I wonder if Akine is more like Koyun than her sister, if her relationship with the black-haired girl is something similar to the one Koyun had with Manatsu. As much as I find it despicable that attitude of excluding someone and trying to worsen their life by acting behind their back, I think I understand a little where Manatsu is coming from, my guess is that besides a matter of different tastes and values, she felt betrayed by Koyun regarding how her relationship with Igarashi developed. It's the type of thing a sensible friend could mediate and smooth the tension (though that too can backfire spectacularly), but there's no such person here, and this is rare on that age, at least from what I can recall from my own childhood/teenage years.

It makes the contrast of these classrooms with what we could see on You and I Are Polar Opposites even more interesting. The author really deserves high praise in my opinion.
