Who would have thought that this would ultimately be about parenthood and the traumatas in our childhood that shape us as we grow - with a hint of criticism towards a Laissez-faire education or at least towards an emotionless parent-child relationship. If only people in real life would be more willing to change themselves and try to heal.

Looking back, the act of flying away could be considered an allegory to suicide (the daughter and grandmama having enough from their whole situation + the jumping of the window is pretty on the nose).
