A cool twist on the formula would be this becoming a story of the three of them bonding more and more in their commiserating, eventually becoming good friends, letting go of their unrequited love for the dude, and going on to fulfill their personal goals and self-actualizing.

Meanwhile Nanao and Izumi get closer and date and stuff, but the focus remains primarily on these three and they all build a true non-losing-heroine bond of friendship.

They still have to process their unrequite love and stuff (with setbacks and the occasional scheming and infighting), but the story is just their healing journey, as it were.

Would be neat to see.
story would be TOO good if that happened

Part of me is starting to hope that we end up finding out the MC likes realist girls and ends up falling for Inori, for some extra chaos.

Don't think that is likely to happen at all though.

I forgot one of the purposes angel girl serves in this manga: to have twintails when none of the heroines do.

One of them is literally a tsundere, and hasn't even shown him any dere yet. That's not "genuine".
One of them is mooching off his smarts to pretend to be a model student. That's not "genuine".
And the other one... well, she's not so bad, just cowardly.

Usually it's mutex because they want monogamy. Also, every girl added to the harem causes the number of relationships to grow geometrically, on top of being a whole other person with needs on her own. It's a lot to manage and I don't think this guy is superhuman like that.

I don't read a lot of Romcoms or maybe I'm just stupid but can someone please explain what this means?

Like were we straight up told that Nanao will win? Or was that hinting at a harem ending?
never trust anything on harems. we'll never know who'll win till it happens

Most of 'harems' in modern era setting would never end in harem unless supernatural thing involved and that's still not enough for a harem ending to happen. Harem ending only exists in Isekai or Fantasy world.

Honestly, I wish this manga drop the whole harem thing if the end game isn't a harem ending at all. Waste of time...still a bit interesting manga though. Maybe I should try the novel...

I know she's presented as the "honest and straightforward heroine" but she really comes off more as pushy and overbearing to me.

New Characters unlocked =

Main Heroine 6: Sumie Kasumi (1st Year Seirin Female Academy). brocon little sister

Point: Sumie Kasumi, Sumie Izumi’s little sister, is a huge brocon. She tries to separate Izumi from the heroines by planning to transfer him to another school, but that plan is eventually cancelled after an FPS match involving Haru and Kasumi. Kasumi skips the rematch, so Izumi takes her place. Haru wins, but Kasumi, watching her brother look so cool, shifts from pure tsundere into full suki suki daisuki mode. Haru manages to confess once, but Izumi doesn’t hear her because of the chaos Kasumi causes. At the end of the volume, Amane and Haru invite Hitomi to form an alliance of girls who still haven’t had the courage to confess to Izumi.

★ Late at night, Kasuga Haru, an FPS gamer and YouTuber, is streaming and showing off her skills when her childhood friend Inori drops a message in chat: Izumi actually has a little sister. Inori also says Izumi’s attitude toward Haru is just loneliness because he can’t meet that sister. Haru loses focus, throws the match, ends the stream, and calls Inori from her window. She panics about the possibility of Izumi being forced to transfer to Kasumi’s school, Seirin Female Academy, and decides she’ll do anything to stop that.

★ In Hakua’s room, where her maid Akeboshi Meina (fresh back from overseas) is also staying, the two stare at a sexy piece of underwear on the table. Meina suggests they go seduce Izumi, inspired by Hakua’s big public confession back at the sports festival. Hakua refuses and checks again whether Meina has feelings for Izumi. Meina insists she doesn’t and will stay loyal to Hakua—but says loyalty alone can’t deal with her “needs”, so she decides to use Izumi for that.

★ Ignoring Hakua, Meina heads to Izumi’s room with the underwear in hand. When they arrive, Izumi is being scolded by his sister, Sumie Kasumi, who is also the official Sumie family heir. The three argue until Nanase Nanao shows up, having promised earlier to take Izumi to a massage clinic after he hurt his arm at the sports festival. It’s revealed Nanao has legit massage skills from her middle school days. Meina, Hakua, and Kasumi, not wanting their strongest rival to touch Izumi, demand proof. Nanao first massages Meina until Meina is totally weak, then does the same to Hakua, who thought she’d be used to fancy relaxation treatments, and finally to Kasumi, who gives in after resisting at first. Once all three girls are asleep, Nanao massages Izumi for real, straddling his hips and carefully working on his injured area.

★ After that, Izumi and Nanao still go to the clinic and then on a proper date. When he comes home, Kasumi confronts him and bluntly asks if he likes Nanao. Cornered into answering, Izumi admits he does. Kasumi then locks herself in Izumi’s room, which she’s basically claimed as her own, and vents her frustration by punching her pillow. Despite acting harsh, she’s revealed to be a full-on brocon who doesn’t want her brother stolen by other girls. While grumbling, she comes up with a plan and moves to carry it out immediately.

★ The next day, Izumi is surrounded by jealous male classmates, led by Satou, who tell him to hurry up and choose Nanao so the other girls will stop chasing him. While they’re lecturing him, Amasaki Amane shows up. She likes Izumi too and sulks because he hasn’t been paying attention to her lately, even leaving her homemade lunches uneaten.

★ Satou hears that students from Seirin Female Academy are visiting. Soon, a line of luxury cars pulls up, bringing the Seirin student council led by Sumie Kasumi: genius first-year, Sumie heir, and current student council president. When the boys see that Izumi knows Kasumi, they interrogate him. Izumi explains she’s his sister; they’re relieved, thinking that means no romance. Then Nanao casually drops the bomb that Izumi, who used to live alone, is now living together with Kasumi, instantly reigniting the boys’ outrage.

★ The visit itself is Kasumi’s idea: she proposed a joint cultural festival between Seirin and Hakua’s school. Hakua tries to read Kasumi’s true motives but fails. In reality, Kasumi just wants to see the school where her beloved brother shines and is admired. With Hakua’s approval, Kasumi rushes to find Izumi’s class—only to see him tied up like a shrimp and hanging in the middle of the room. Shocked by this humiliating sight, she snaps and declares she’ll transfer Izumi to another school and keep him completely under her control.

★ In the student council room, Amane, Haru, Hakua, Meina, Nanao, and Inori hold a strategy meeting to stop Kasumi’s transfer plan. Nanao suggests making Izumi look cool and important during the cultural festival by appointing him as festival committee leader, hoping Kasumi will cancel the transfer. Everyone agrees and picks Haru to convince Izumi, since if Nanao asks directly he’ll get suspicious.

★ During a literature club meeting, the mood is tense between Izumi, Haru, and Inori. Haru keeps glaring at Izumi. He then compares her to his old pet dog, saying her tsundere behavior is similar: the dog barked a lot, but always returned to hide near Izumi when it messed up, and even chose to die at his side. Feeling insulted, Haru drops her plan to ask him to lead the festival committee and storms out.

★ Later, Izumi walks Nanao toward the archery club room on their way out of school. He says the final decision about his transfer is in Kasumi’s hands, but even if he moves, their connections won’t vanish. Still, the thought of separation makes Nanao sad, and she says so. Izumi admits he’d feel lonely too; despite the chaos, he’s happy with how his life changed thanks to everyone. Nanao blushes, happy they feel the same way. She asks him to become festival committee leader, and this time Izumi agrees.

▼ Skipping ahead to the core parts.

★ Izumi does a great job leading the inter-school meeting, charming the Seirin student council with his cool presence and smile, but Kasumi’s stance doesn’t change. At first, she secretly wants to retract her transfer declaration and is glad Hakua chose Izumi as leader, thinking she can quietly delay the transfer without taking back her words. However, when she sees the meeting devolve into planning a couple contest and other “fight over Izumi” events, she gets angry again and doubles down on transferring him.

★ Haru then challenges Kasumi to a match: if Haru wins, Kasumi must cancel the transfer plan. Kasumi has no intention of accepting at first, but Haru keeps provoking her until she relents and lets Haru choose the type of contest. Haru picks an FPS match.

★ Using Shiragiku family connections, Hakua secures a gaming-PC-equipped room at school. Kasumi, blessed with talent and used to winning, enters confident—but Haru snipes her from long range over and over, leaving Kasumi unable to fight back. The lopsided result makes the heroines and Izumi feel sorry for Kasumi, so they start planning a rematch, assuming she’ll never accept a loss like that.

★ Kasumi, however, is furious that they arranged a rematch without asking her, feeling they’re looking down on her. At Izumi’s home, Meina, Hakua, and Nanao try to talk her into accepting and even practice games with her, hoping she’ll change her mind.

★ Kasumi gets even angrier when Izumi himself tries to encourage her. Her frustration comes from how the brother she admired gave up on being the Sumie heir after one failure. Izumi explains his reasons for handing the position to Kasumi, but she refuses to accept any of it and walks out of his place that night.

★ Regretting everything, Izumi stands on the balcony looking at the city lights. From Hakua’s adjacent balcony, Nanao joins him. She reassures him that even if he’s stepped away from the heir role for now, his decision could change in the future, and she promises to keep supporting him until then. When Izumi asks why she’s helping her own love rivals, Nanao says she wants to win in a way that makes all the other heroines feel her victory is natural and acceptable.

★ Eventually, the rematch is held as a big school event, with Amane acting as MC. Since Kasumi doesn’t show up, Izumi steps in to take her place and face Haru. Haru is confused because the match is supposed to decide if Izumi transfers, and now he’s her opponent. Meanwhile, Kasumi, having received a message from Nanao, secretly comes to school and watches the match from the shadows.

★ Izumi chooses a character that was recently nerfed and is now weak. Lacking Haru’s FPS experience, he picks a map where victory depends on capturing the enemy base. His character can sneak behind enemy lines but, due to the nerf, can’t use guns, so Haru kills him repeatedly. Even so, near the end he almost wins by outsmarting Haru and making a surprise push toward her base. Watching, Kasumi is blown away by his strategy and how exciting he makes the match despite such a weak character.

★ Izumi still remembers his first meeting with Haru, when he helped her and Inori escape a group of thugs bothering Inori. Haru thought he’d forgotten, but he explains he just never mentioned it because he assumed they didn’t remember and didn’t want to sound like he was asking for thanks. Hearing that, Haru blurts out that she likes him and apologizes for saying she hated him before. She really does love Izumi—but right then Kasumi suddenly hugs Izumi and loudly declares how much she loves her brother. Haru’s confession doesn’t reach him. When Izumi asks her to repeat what she said, she panics and covers it up by yelling that she totally hates him again.

★ In the end, Haru and Amane approach Iketeru Hitomi, a college student who also likes Izumi. Seeing him constantly surrounded by beautiful girls, Hitomi was about to give up on her first love. On her way home from her part-time job, Haru and Amane stop her and suggest forming an alliance of girls who still don’t have the courage to confess to Izumi.

★ At this point, the heroines who have clearly confessed to Izumi are Nanao, Hakua, and Kasumi. Meina has also expressed her feelings once, but it’s still unclear whether she counts as a truly serious heroine or not.

Once again, Inori is the only one with good sense.

No, they're kinda all just losing heroines who can't get over their own bullshit. That's why the smart move is just to enjoy your meal and treat it as a hangout between friends.
Yeah none of three have the drive to actually make a move unlike the transfer student
