This manga is just keep reminding us in every chapters that harem manga is all about which girl confess first and never run away or let go of her target.

I don't read a lot of Romcoms or maybe I'm just stupid but can someone please explain what this means?

Like were we straight up told that Nanao will win? Or was that hinting at a harem ending?
One of the common tropes in romcom manga in particular, but also the romance genre in general, is that they can’t spit it out (warning: TVT link). So a lot of time is spent on hemming and hawing on a confession, which in a harem setting (that is, 3+ love interests for a single, usually male person) means that the other candidates will have more opportunity to make their own confessions. At the same time the love focus cannot decide who of the love interests they like, and will by genre convention usually go with whoever confesses first, while internally explaining away the thousand-and-one romantic accidents, events, situations they had with the other love interests.
Furthermore often the confession by one of the love interests, making that pairing official, happens in the final chapters of a manga, since the draw (for the audience) was the indecision and possibility for their preferred pairing to win. There’s ever the axe of Damocles hanging above, and once it threatens to fall the author decides on their pairing and realises it.

That Nanao basically was introduced with her confessions subverts these conventions, and makes her the favourite (in betting terms) to win MC’s heart.
All this talk of losing heroines reminded me of this title ( https://mangadex.org/title/4a4d2e5f...o-make-heroine-o-zenryoku-de-shiawase-ni-suru ); god it's been 2 years since last chap :meguuusad:
That’s one of those manga that tempts me to get a MTL of the light novel, if only to get a measure of closure…

Inori really surpassed my expectations
I really thought she was just going to be the 'helpless girl who was too polite and kind-hearted to speak out towards others' stereotype character but im pleasantly surprised
they subverted expectations and made the gentle looking girl who acted like she needed protection 24/7 into the funny comedic character who doesnt want to be bothered with shit she cant care about and will usually tell people straight the problem without sugar coating the issue
The only reason she doesnt want to say anything here is because she finds humor in this circumstance and is trying to make light of her being dragged into a situation she doesnt want to be apart of to begin with (She also might not want to tell them they are all losing heroines to make them figure it out themselves or because she doesnt want to be attacked by them)
I honestly want to give the writer an A+ for making a dynamic character who isnt just a single archetype like many characters like her

I don't like this trend of losing heroines. As a red-blooded man isn't it your duty to make them all happy?
