I do agree he has been pretty good this whole time, but they do really need to communicate.

Don't forget she overheard him saying that she has a terrible habit and he doesn't know what to do with her anymore. She heard this and immediately went negative, meanwhile he is most likely thinking something along the lines of her being super cute/adorable or something. These two are very much in love with each other, so he isn't speaking negatively of her, but she made it that way thinking she is the problem. Them communicating should hopefully fix that.
