basically, the mc ultimately decides to leave whatever city this takes place in to pursue his lifelong revenge dream of killing his parents' murderer. that also includes people as well. shingu and the others are left behind (and, from what i see, kashihara and shingu don't ever date but i think they're aware of both of their feelings)
