I should probably say that "divergent" was the result of some hemming and hawing over how exactly to translate the loanword "my pace" here. In this context, she's using it as a nice term for, basically, "socially unaware" or "slow". We could've gone with "offbeat" or "different" or something but thought it'd be better to err on the side of the more obvious but respectable.

The sudden switch from the MC to being chill was weird, I think. It’s ’nice’, sure, but realistically a person would still be pretty disgruntled by the fact that someone just didn’t help a person they cared about, regardless of justification. The complete instant elimination of any social friction to reiterate ‘main character is the best guy ever’ is pretty lazy, imo.
That said I love the chapter and these doofuses are hilarious.
