She clearly wants to spend time with him. It's clearly important to her. But he's making the effort to push closer, and she's getting too self-conscious.

Also, funny thing, looking up about 'pain in the ass girlfriend', I stumbled across some stuff saying you want someone like that because they challenge you. And, to be honest, she really is basically challenging him, whether she realizes it or not, to do better, to be better. If he really is serious about her, he's going to have to push boundaries and bridge those gaps.

You can't say Tasuku didn't succeed at getting Shia to look at him differently... but his true moment of triumph wasn't the boundary-trampling confession from last time. It was sensing just how close he was to losing Shia's trust completely, and managing to regain it - well, most of it, anyhow. Not a mean feat, given how much of a pain in the ass she is.

She does have a point though. It's a big difference whether he's just saying whatever to get into her room, and by extension her pants, or genuinely trying to establish an emotional and intellectual connection.
