Usually, all the writing on this kind of endeavors is credited only to the writer. This doesn't mean, however, the artist has no say on what happens on the story. Creating a story is an inherently collaborative effort and I find it hard to believe Aka never asked Mengo her opinion or something or Mengo not suggesting stuff to him.

That makes sense. Thanks! I didn’t realize that artists can help out the writer too, but I can definitely see why they would help them out a bit now. I do know that everyone hated Oshi no Ko’s ending even though I haven’t watched it, so I do wonder how involved she was in that like that other poster was wondering.

What exactly is a men’s parlor anyway, and what are their jobs? I mean, it seems that it’s like one of those hostess club things or something, so is that just another name for that or is it something else?

@Retkaisinkabak The term was "Mens Esthe" which is basically mens beauty parlors (or salons is another term ig)
I dont like leaving very long tl notes but ig not many people know about the term parlor :/ (It's common here lol)

Yeah most of the time in a creative work its not very encouraging to have a strict hierarchy, I just think of it as 2 creators want to create a manga and decide one have the right art style fit for the genre. As for how involved she was i see her as heavily involved as a co creator would and some chapters are definitely almost went awry to what yorimen would do before either aka and/or the editors step in to pull the brakes lol

Hope yorimen do a sci fi detective or a dark fantasy as her big manga next

I missed this one, but, I see, that makes sense. It’s cool that it’s such a collaborative process then. i think a story like that would be pretty interesting too.

I've never thought on this oshi no ko considering I mainly do Yuri, I've merely heard of it
So curious Yuri would seem not to be their expertise yet the other work seems highly praised
