New theory!!
Aka is Aria Company's grandma, and Uran is Himeya company's founder.
And Verdi will found Orange Planet.
They both fit perfectly in Aqua's lore...

As fun as this theory is, the timelines may not fit-
Spoilers for Aria/aqua/TV/movies-
In the Aria timeline, Orange company is a very young, Himeya has been around far longer, well over 100 years? (not sure if this is mentioned exactly) Verdi would have to be immortal, and unless the author extends her magic/mystical funny business beyond cats, it seems unlikely to be his .

Same applies for Grandma- she's not that old, Aria is also a very young company, and Grandma was at Himeya for years before going solo. In the final movie, Akari's mentions how all the pioneers of the water fairies/gondolas have long passed (or was she mentioning the founders of neo-venezia, I forget). If we are mapping behaviors onto descendants- Aka may be Alice's ancestor: same penchant for silly going home games. Uran does seem possible as Himeya's founder- though whether or not she is Aika's direct ancestor is unknown, dunno if the family line was stated as having been never broken. She's much more an Akira (of Aria) personality type though, which certainly doubles up for the Akira gondola slide joke =D

What's Uran's family name, do we know?

[If you haven't read/watched Aria, this comment contains spoilers, traveler!]

It hasn't been mentioned in the story so far, and off the top of my head I can't think of any evidence being shown as of yet that'd connect her to a character from Aria. (perhaps the closest one being her family's deep connection to Youngleaf Manor a.k.a Himeya's building in the future)

Maybe her last name has been avoided so far deliberately? If it turns out to be "Ferrari" or "Granzchesta", this might indeed make sense ┐( ̄ヘ ̄)┌

Uran's dad is a "Guardian of the Flame" (what appears to be the precursor to the "Salamander" occupation). This is a shot in the dark, but could she be an Izumo—a relative of Akatsuki (ºΔº) !? (lol, and now that I mention it, her name is the only Japanese one of the trio)

oooh, good point, didn't remember the connection of her family- she's far more fiery in personality, like a certain "hot-blooded protector of justice!" from Aria =D

Yup, Uran's personality is all Akira's...
Well, hope Amano sensei is having fun writing this and provides us with the perfect story...
Whenever the books get localized I will start buying...

I think we all saw this coming during the chapter that introduced the prototype gondola and Uran wanted to row it no matter what.

I know the current mass guessing is that each of the girl trio will be involved with the various Undine companies we know but I hope not. Uran is obviously representating the progenitors of the Undine, but I hope the others will end up being the progenitors of other important vocations we've seen around in Aria.

And there's also Kurocha to talk about. He's there but no one's actually talked about what he really is.

I was thinking about him too, right now he feels like Aka's family, and later in Aria, he is seen as a spirit, an entity deeply rooted in the city, someone that will become a friend\guardian of Akari and we see in the manga it looks like he is Akari's pen pall...
