Oh wow, actually something I’ve got relevant active knowledge for once. In regards to brand name usage, some of the manufacturers in Japan have started to relax some of the more draconian rules concerning depicting their products in media.
Canon in particular has made it easier to make a media request. As long as the depictions are accurate, they’ve been giving the green light. Free advertising after all.
Hold outs continue to be Nikon (which believe me, is like pulling tooth and nail for any of their assets) and Sony (mostly unreachable marketing division), which is why Panasonic, Fujifilm and Leica have had some more screen time.
Maybe we’ll be lucky and Hasselblad or the legacy medium format make an appearance down the road? (Might be better for a Ansel Adams manga tbh).
Also, PORTRA 400 during daylight? Gross. I’d rather shoot 800 if slightly overcast on a Minilux. 🎞️
