If he wanted to break the guy's spirit, he should've started the chain in response to an effect that summons. When he's that pissed getting Ojama on his field, just imagine if they took up his remaining zones and kept a cute girl from appearing.

I would argue it was worse the way he did it, cause he made that with the knowledge that he was going to resolve Mahaara either way, which optimized his hope to despair strat.

Bro got mogged by chain burn in 2025(?)
Chain Burn was actually shockingly viable during that time, even getting tops in Snake Eye format. Because a lot of decks at this time didn't run many ways of dealing with backrow, it becomes a genuine threat that you have to prepare for. Of course, it becomes a whole lot worse after decks like Centurion and White Forest started becoming more popular (both of which Eiji could have very well brought if it weren't for the fact that we just saw Centurion White Forest and this series doesn't really like reusing decks, ignore the Fiendsmith brothers), not to mention the Fiendsmith and Azamina stuff making omni-negates more accessible and therefore backrow decks like Chain Burn weaker. Chain Burn was especially bad against Desirae since they needed to flip multiple cards, making Desirae's double on field negate absolutely lethal and Chain Strike effectively useless.
