First king was probably an impressive guy who earned his right to rule and then raised a kid who was promised s throne from birth. After a dozen generations of that, you get arrogant kings who think they’re basically gods and that nothing bad could ever happen to them.

meanwhile the prime minister probably earned his position through hard work and effort and has been doing his best to keep the king from burning the kingdom to the ground

In universe nobody knows what kind of power she has yet. That includes Amy herself (she assumes that the staff gave her the same power it has given to her game counterpart).
Anyway this chapter demonstrates that her brainwashing has limits since the Prime minister was unaffected.

It kinda is. One of the key traits of a heroine is that she can win over anyone from prince to pope to assassin. That requires a certain level of mental manipulation.

one of my favorite dating sim games explained this as the goddesses manipulating the heroines so they only saw the traits they wanted in him

and in the otome heroine s fight for survival, mc has a literal superhuman level of beauty, such that she’s able to charm almost anyone with a glance, getting them to lower their guards so she could slit their throats

Oh I'm fully hoping for a slap to the face with an invasion being imminent!
