Objectively, Osamu didn't do anything wrong (yet). He had a reservation, his career focused girlfriend ditched him (again), he met a friend to go ahead and use it.
Of course we know that objective don't mean shit and that ain't gonna fly.
Honestly the RIGHT move when your partner says they are stuck at work for 3 hours was to go get some takeway plus a cake, take it to their work, and see if they can take a break. (If you want to be a real chad, get some LED candles and a tablecloth) if they can't just leave them the bag.
But not just for RomCom reasons, that relationship is honestly done.

Thank you for the translation! I really like this series so this was a very welcome surprise.
The boyfriend's main fuck up here was not telling her that he bumped into a coworker and is gonna eat dinner with them instead of wasting the reservation, in my opinion.
I would probably be vague by not mentioning said coworker's sex/gender though since telling your swamped, likely tired girlfriend that you're enjoying a nice meal with a woman while she'll be glued to an office chair for the foreseeable future just won't end well. Then you could grab your girl a meal to go (I assume?) and a slice of cake or something and drop it off when work is over.

TBF she said she was going to be busy for the next few hours. He was probably being polite and not bothering her, and would have told her about it later. I don't believe she texted him that she was on her way and would be able to make it.

Yeah she did tell him that (and then didn't tell him afterwards that she was able to finish it early), I meant that he should've texted her about using the reservation with a coworker.
You could be right that he intended to do so later since he had no way of knowing she'd happen to pop up right outside the window at that moment. I just feel like it's always smartest on a "better safe than sorry"-level to tell your partner this kind of shit in real-time (again, as a text that they'd see whenever they get around to it.)
