Hi, light novel reader here. This arc is really good, my favorite from what I've read so far.

Spoiler: Light Novel spoilers about Atou's situation

The little girl isn't actually the 'player' of her table top, the DM is. Imagine being able to roll Charm Person with a guaranteed success, and every time they try to break out of it it's a guaranteed failure. So her personality doesn't really change, but whose side she's on does. This doesn't get explained until deeper in the arc, but it's already somewhat spoiled by 'even the dice don't help' and other things. The MC's situation is way more complex and is basically what is driving the ENTIRE arc, so unless people really want me to I don't spoil that at all.

Nah, that makes some sense. A DM controls non-player characters (NPCs). A Player controls their Player Character (PC). It sounds like she thinks she's a Player but she's actually just a PC, compared to the main character who is a Player equivalent.

Looks like the little girl has relied too heavily on Rule Zero and thus run afoul of Rule -1:
If the players are no longer willing to put up with the GM's invocations/abuse of Rule Zero, they stop playing the game.

I think he's referring to back when Atou DID break control for a moment during the attack.

It exposed that even with cheated rolls, there are things 'dice can't influence'

In a previous chapter Takuto already pinpoint which TRPG is Erakino working under.
So either he's abusing some kinda flaw in the transition of TRPG to 'real world' application or using the 'allowed' interaction from the overlap of his RTS system with TRPG system to cause these 'unknown/uncertain' answers to their attempt to investigate.

Well, it IS a death game between the 'players' in that world, there can be only one, heh. And she's the agent of the DM, in the same way as Atou is of Takuto.
