I'm too old for any unironic argument over the word "daisuki" in 2026. But I can already see some people here going crazy over this in translation out of context. Moreover, as you can see from their reactions, even just having a different opinion on things is enough to overexcite them.

Is it fair to say its solely what's being explicitly stated? Yes.
Is there supporting evidence for both stances? Yes.

You didn't exactly deny it, but you did dismiss it at first glance when you reduced it to nothing more than "shipping goggles". That's pretty charged language so trying to say it wasn't otherwise would be disingenuous.

Feel any better or not is irrelevant. The same way you, and those who commented towards you, said whatever they said, I can do the same. Same for you as well. Beyond that, you are also the one who started it so trying to make it seem as if it's something that came to be without your initial involvement is also disingenuous.

Yeah? Then why didn't you have any questions for the people who trolled me and harassed me because I refused to accept the canonicity of this ship outright? Including when I directly refused to respond and added them to the ignore list, although they continued to monitor my comments. You try to appear to be the voice of reason in these debates, but in reality, you're just more subtly criticizing those who take the other side. At the same time, completely turned a blind eye to how the pro-shippers behaved. You can't simultaneously say that people have the right to express their opinions and then criticize someone for questioning their opinion. Or say that opinions are equal, and then support one side and criticize the other for believing this. It doesn't work that way.

I think this is more about desperate shipping goggles than any real intention. Especially after the recent game event that popularized the ship. I mean, this is a typical development for fateful rivals in spokon manga/anime.

Yeah cygames don´t want confirmed romance in umamusume, they always just tease it with platonic interactions, either with uma x uma or uma x trainer there will never be a confirmed couple in this franchise, they just use implied ways to reference their irl relationships like this, Bakushin and North Flight were shiped alot irl and here they use a rivalry with a heavy romantic vibe on it.
