I like this manga, reconnecting with people that were important to you is fine. Don't think too much, MC didn't disliked the idea of being with her and her daughter at the end. Life isn't about knowing what you doing all the time and having everything on control and being the ultimate mentally stable person, giving a second chance to old feelings, even if it was such small time in the past can make a difference in the way you see things. He was lonely, his lifestyle wasn't the brightest one.

Don't play the characters of being all mighty, no one is that perfect in life.

This comment section is like a war zone! People complaining about the characters should stop for a second. If the Mc is fine with reconnecting with his ex then let him. It’s not like they ended on bad terms. The fmc and mc made their own decisions throughout those last 17 years. For goodness sake, it’s a wholesome manga. She may be a bit of an airhead but she’s trying to get back on her feet, she’s not a scumbag. This whole family dynamic is more healthy for each party anyways.

Yeah, that's what I think. My post was exactly this, and people who think shes a scumbag didn't read at all, shes always helping at home and he didn't dislike them staying with him because still loves her and that's totally fine. The way they treat a single mother that tries everything for her daughter like this is a proof they're just gonna treat every Female character like this just by the way they write about it.
I like the way they're forming a family, slowly not rushing anything and giving time to their feelings even though sometimes in questionable ways, but no one is perfect and that's the beauty of life, re-reading this It's clear that the MC regrets doing nothing and letting her go, the chapter that he drinks and dreams about her and wake up crying that hes happy that shes alive and every thought he has about her is about how he missed her by his side he can't even lie to himself about it. And she hints every time that she still likes him too and the proof is that she feels safe with him, he was the only person she thought to help her in such delicate moment of her life with too many things to do, taking care of her daughter, always alone doing everything she can. People really need to have more empathy and tries to see things the way they are and not that twisted way.

Just saw this, but it's because she's using the ml's emotional attachment to her for free housing and food. The mental support stuff that guy mentioned i find dumb but the other stuff is kind of right to an extent.

Thought about the whole thong with her having a child and like it doesn't make her any less of a scumbag. She just had to be a scumbag to get a place to stay for her kid. Afaik they aren't even looking for a new place anymore which kind of makes them seem like more of scumbags than otherwise. But story wise it's cus they enjoy staying with him.

He was neglecting her prior to their breakup, because he was incredibly busy with a major installation project that a bunch of his classmates dumped on him last minute.
She then had an undisclosed emergency that forced her to drop out of college. Rather than burden him further with her troubles, she opted to end things as amicably as possible.

He left her a standing offer to reach out if she ever needed help.

When she showed up 17 years later with her 14 year old daughter seeking a temporary room to crash in while she went house hunting, he, an adult, offered to let her stay. She opted into paying, and when he declined, both she and her daughter helped with food costs and cleaning the house.

She eventually found a prospective place, and instead he asked her to stay.

He is actually the one who's made advances at her, and she's tried to keep things cordial between them because her daughter is her first priority. She wants to rekindle things, but feels she can't at this point.

At every turn, this has been them reconnecting, and has been them both making decisions and finding their way back into one another's lives now that there's a second chance for them.

She's no more a scumbag than he is. And the fact that you and those other people refuse to admit you don't actually know the story you're trying to criticize, really makes one wonder why you're so quick to demonize the woman in the situation.

This series has attracted misogynists like you wouldn't believe.

And it's absolutely because Minori isn't Takaharu's daughter.

Now we just need Kyou and Takaharu to take those final steps in admitting what they both want. It's one thing for Minori to start figuring out her life, but Kyou's in the same boat, if in a different light. She's allowed to reach for her own happiness as well. And with Minori gaining a better foundation every day and finding more and more comfort and security in their life with Takaharu, I hope that Kyou starts to realize that she can think for herself, a bit (a lot).
TL;DR: let’s get back to that “kissing in bed” scene minus the illness and start again from there…

I feel like most of us aren't complaining about the manga tho. Like legit only the original comment felt like he was complaining about the manga the rest of us are just talking about our perspective on it.

People often bring uo what you brought up in the first paragraph as a good thing, but like doesn't that just make her a coward? Also, when tf did I really criticize the story? Maybe they did but I never meant to do that, I just view her as a kinda scummy person. But you low key right he's also a bit scummy.
