I wonder if there will be conflict with people who spent their life learning the old system and have trouble with the new one.
almost certainly. Even today older doctors sometimes struggle to adapt to new treatments/procedures because they’re used to what they’ve been using for decades. or if you want a more historical example, John snow categorically proved the existence of germs and despite His evidence, he was loudly mocked by the entire scientific community for years as his findings went against the prevalent theory of the time.

Oh and the reliance on animal dissection is also true as dissecting actual corpses was considered taboo. In fact the prominent medical textbook in England for over a century was written by a man who had never dissected an actual person and just based his findings on animal corpses.

Wow, there's quite a lot of explanations done on this chapter.

Patrick feels smarter!
But if I was in their world, I can't find it easy to simply accept all of those revolutionary knowledge when the source is "Trust me bro."

THE END

And joke aside i won't complain had they stopped right there for the adaptation
Seriously, this would be a great ending point. That he looked so far ahead as he did to ensure that his knowledge would be helpful not just because he knew it but because it was properly disseminated and taught to others is just peak.

The progress on prep work is impressive and the backing seems to be solid.

Unlike the current day, the scientific method wasn't fully fleshed out. Even up til the early 1800s there wasn't really a solid method for determining how accurate something was, so trust me bro from someone shown to be able to cure something no one has been able to cure in the past was likely one of the best methods they had.
Also if you want to look into recent history look into the scientist who was obsessed with vitamin C. There is a lot of false info left in society from him.

This wouldn't be an inadequate ending, though there's more to explore surely.

Thanks a lot for the scanlation ^.^

Sure, but it doesn't change what I think.

Hmm, there's not much reaction at using execution corpse
I too was expecting more friction between Modern Japanese Person ethics and the isekai ones. I suppose it'd be expected that he had learned the history of modern medicine and so this era wouldn't be particularly surprising; doing it on executed criminals is one of the more ethical ways to get this information, in a sense.

I feel like people with divine arts would use their arts for shortcuts to improve or be lazy about procedures, which may or may not harm the proper way of doing it.
In the settings, it already has. Limited advancement in the medical field bc they used divine arts in their procedures without real understanding how divine arts interacts (since divine arts having no proper documentation). With divine arts being limited to nobles, proper medical knowledge is further blocked for the common people. Since they have no understanding, pinning unknown illnesses as evil spirits needing purification, etc. etc.

Farma's 'proper way' way here is actually supplementing the knowledge behind why and how it works, along with advanced tools that's 100+ steps too early so not even divine arts can replace it lol. Like the existence of bacteria and microscope. So, they can still use divine arts to shortcut but now, they'll know why it works and how to make it work even without divine arts.

Knowledge is Power I guess.

yeah sadly there are a ton of people nowadays who ignore professionals and data, and instead inject horse dewormer into their veins thinking it is a cure all. Just because of rumors or politicians telling them to.

Wow, rumours... that's even worse than a "Trust me, bro" source. Politicians, well, I don't want to start with that can of worms.

As a medical doctor myself, I'm always happy to see the exhaustive detail this manga goes into to explain disease and their treatments. In this chapter specifically, we get a glimpse of the various surgical tools and their uses. Just wish it updated more often
