Yeah, new comments section user is right, it is fun to watch an ace attorney-esque manga with silly characters and overly dramatic resolutions, but it is kinda getting stale. No connected background details, the prosecutors don't have enough oomph to really care about them, the revolving characters aren't interesting enough to carry the trials and honestly, the fetish art would be more suited to an art book or hentai anthologies rather than being tacked on to a serialized manga in my opinion.

It's simply the way the setup works I'm afraid. Every new case we are shown some new information regarding the setting as mostly background information. I honestly believe that the author is building up to something or to a specific case (I'm guessing the trial of Yuuri's big sister).

But, these two past cases haven't shown us anything new to think about (unless something changes by the end of this case next chapter). This being a monthly manga i get how it's sort of come to standstill since Lemon's case put a lot of info out. I feel as though the author just inserted these new cases or the new prosecutor unplanned to add more jokes and mostly put the background story on pause so to speak due to it's success.
Though this is still mainly a comedy for the time being so idk.

One thing I dislike about this case is how little is shown of Hitomi and her situation, perhaps there is an interesting twist in the end so I wont really say much on the matter. Chocolat so far is just Tatemaki's less interesting replacement.

I don't think its tacked on - the whole premise is defeated heroines(👈 main trope) are sent to trial. Instead of taking tropes from an h-manga and putting them in a general serial it's more like they took an h-manga plot and serialized it while taking it mostly seriously.

I have to agree that this is getting really formulaic. Though the same could be said for the Ace Attorney series as a whole. I keep hoping for a Magical girl rebellion against the system.

Normally, these filler stories wouldn't be such a problem, since it's really just 2 cases and the first case was only one chapter. It's just that, being a monthly manga, we have to wait months before we actually get to the interesting cases and worldbuilding all over again.

I get the whole premise are trials of defeated magical girls, but they already teased us major things about the world at the end of the first chapter. Why not tell us a bit more about the otherworldly deserted village? Where do these monsters come from? Show us how regular students in Yuuri's school and Aoi's old school view magical girls and monsters. We are 21 chapters in and we barely know anything about the world and people in it other than the justice system is shit and the spectators are huge perverts.

It was said that the eggs are filled with magical energy and the Chicken monster looks like it can suck stuff with it's weird mouth. Perhaps, Lily discovered this when she was attacked herself and that by sucking out a magical girls energy it lays better eggs or some such nonsense. Then again based on what Hitomi said she put on the disinfectant of her own volition so maybe not?

I mean, there's nothing stopping the author from continuing the comedy and outrageous situations we've seen from the beginning. We all knew what this manga was going to be about from the moment we clicked on the first chapter. It's just that we need breaks from the trials every once in a while.

That last volume extra about Aoi's daily life could've been expanded into a few of chapters before jumping right back in to the trials again. Aoi and Yuuri could also talk about the world during one of their lunch time breaks or day trips. Heck, they could have even brought it up in this arc when they were eating in the restaurant. It's fine if the author wants to keep this focused on the defeat trials, but at least throw us a few details about the world to keep things interesting and fresh.

And about the the hand disinfectant: although most hand disinfectant are based on alcohol, it's not that hard to find ones based on other ingredients. The restaurant could've been using non-alcohol based disinfectant the whole time before secretly switching to the alcohol based one.

I wanna see Aoi's heart skipping at beat at being asked out. Aoi is already aware that she's attractive when she let that guy look at her panties on that train. Seeing Aoi being torn between every woman's need to be wanted vs her previous identity as a guy is not only a good plot point, it's also comedy gold.
