Fair point.
However saime could be said for Shiori, a creature that lived for centuries and not giving a damn about anything.
Then suddenly, she gave her flesh to human girl. And then fell in love with a human girl later on.
So yeah, being alive for centuries and hating someone for that long does not mean anything at all in this story. They can change their minds on a whim if plot demands that they do. Plus she has that strange little girl following her, I am sure she will also play a big part in Azami changing her mind.
It would be really funny thing if Azami really ends up being Hinako's family in the end and Hinako ends up becoming immortal despite her original wish.
Right - but the difference lies in what sets Hinako and Azami apart.

Azami has had centuries to build resentment and hatred and grief over what was done to her. And it was done to her; she didn't ask Shiori to feed her flesh and turn her immortal. And that's part of the core of why she's so angry: her loss of agency in even being allowed to die, and thus she suffers alone with only that hatred fueling her and pushing her forward.
Shiori is the target of her ire, because Shiori is the one who did that to her. And at the time, Shiori had no way to conceptualize, much less empathize, with what she'd done to Azami. For her, immortality was a given. She had no way of knowing what it meant for a human to achieve the same, because she isn't human, and had no meaningful relationship with a human to begin to learn.
By the time she'd come to realize what she'd actually done to Azami, it was too late to "talk things out". Shiori wasn't yet at a point where she'd gain the "human-ness" that she would eventually possess via Hinako, and Azami was consumed with hatred and would never have listened to Shiori, even if given the option.

We see that here and now. Hinako herself says that Azami and Shiori should actually try and reason this out, and Azami dismisses her out of hand with barely any recognition for what she'd said.

By contrast - Hinako also wishes to die, but she has none of that hatred; only the grief of losing her family and an effectively-lethal case of survivor's guilt. That was also at the hands of Shiori, but the difference is in how their initial interactions played out. Shiori interacted with a young Hinako who began to show her those human-like qualities of compassion and consideration and friendship. Something she didn't actually have when Azami was tossed into her lair all that time ago. And, Hinako sought out Shiori for what Shiori could do for her--namely, killing her, but it came from a place of love and loss and grief, not angry pain.
And, Hinako and Shiori have spent time around one another, after Shiori had already expressed intent to learn more about Hinako and about humanity. She developed feelings for Hinako through a series of events and interactions and time that she just never had with Azami, who fled and plotted and spent all her time bitter and resentful.

Azami entered Shiori's life at a point where any sort of "happy ending" for them and any potential relationship was impossible. Hinako and Shiori are different, for the reasons we have witnessed up to this point in the story.

If I'm being honest--I don't want to see Azami live through this. Her whole deal is that she wants to die. Her surviving would fly in the face of her character arc; she should live through the final act, but she should find peace, preferably not involving the death of Shiori. Because what Azami needs is catharsis for what was done to her all those centuries ago, that she had no say in, and that has seen her lose her family and friends and loved ones and everyone she'd ever known, and cursed her to a life of not building relationships because she'll simply outlive everyone she meets.
I don't know how that will look, in the story--but that's what she needs.

And no--I'd lose respect for the author if Azami ends up being related to Hinako. I don't use the term often, but that would be an asspull on their part; Hinako doesn't need immortality, because what she needs isn't to avoid death. But to find a reason to continue on and to lay to rest the burden of survivor's guilt and grief that she's carried this whole time.
Shiori can help her with that, and has been working toward that point. But Hinako ending up immortal would likewise destroy the entire point of her character.

Somehow everytime Azami speaks to Hinako, even when she glares her dead eyes and when she "about to kill" Hinako, she always has aura of "sesbian lex" and charming, every words she says especially and mostly to Hinako somehow has the "charming, sexy, and lesbian".

May the heavens send a yuri partner for Azami so she gets distracted from her vengeance
I mean, technically she already has her own Mermaid doesn't she? Erika, right? All she has to do is focus down and bed the fish.

Azami haven't talked about what will happen to herself according to her plan? Will the immortal curse be lifted? Or she will continue to live forever just like before?

What's her actual motivation?

Swear gotta be a fucking dumbass bro
Why would she wanna kill shiroi? Hinakos a nice girl ya see, she wishes death apon no one

Ah yes I'm sure revealing you were essentially stalking her will convince her as well
To be fair psuedo Aizen, semi clever going at her feelings like that, anchoring her will to leave the mortal plan, ya just tripped up in revealing too much, yer creepy now... More creepy
Does she even recall how to deal with humans? Normal ones?

Hm... Psuedo Aizen may also be down so deep she doesn't see shiori as capable of change
Despite being there, and apparently seeing it all
If you've seen what I've seen what makes you so certain she'll just regress back to the ass of a selfish character in the beginning?

She understands more than you think not Aizen
She's just not consumed by a need for revenge and justifying that revenger in her mind to see the bigger picture, her operating in bad faith, hinakos operating in good faith
One is clearly superior to the other

Psuedo Aizen dear, ya gotta let of all this hate in her heart, it's why your existing is nothing but suffering, you've become defined by your hate and loved with it for so long, revenge won't solve anything and you'll no longer have a purpose in your infinite of an existence
Experience life as it is, rather than try to take it for others, find meaning in life once more

That's if this week on thoughts with the maybe insane
TILL NEXT TIME
HAVE BRILLIANT DAY

Azami really does need to die. And not just because she's been hunting Shiori relentlessly. So far, we know the horrors she's committed have only been against Shiori which of course is deserved considering what's happened to her. But so far we don't know who else she's affected in her quest to end Shiori? Also... I gotta say I doubt she's really lamenting the loss of her actual family considering they offered her up to be a mermaid's snack? I think in her case, what's happened is a loss of connection? She even says that even monsters stay away from her? So imagine living for so long being completely alone... and then the person you were maybe hoping to spend time with just says I'm going and leaves you to face said forced immortality alone. Tho I don't know how true her statement is considering she has Erika now. I'm a little unclear if centuries have blinded her and gave her tunnel vision or if she's just lying to incur sympathy from Hinako.

I can see it tho, not belonging in either world because of her origins? She's technically human but has the life span of a monster. And monsters have been shown to be unable to form connections? Creatures of base instinct, unwanting of connection. Seems like her story is quite like Ayame's in a way?

Ayame died sure, but she's a human turned monster... and it's clear that, even if there is a difference in motivation, Azami is on that same ruthless selfish path. Is Azami owed death by Shiori? Yes... but do Hinako and Miko owe her any courtesy or kindness for what Shiori did to her? Of course not. Yet she seems content to bring Hinako into her mess with Shiori just so she can somehow exact revenge... and honestly I'm wondering if a little part of her is jealous that monsters care for Hinako whilst she's been alone (again what is her connection to Erika) for most of her time.

I'm still here hoping this story won't end doomed or bittersweet? Honestly would not be shocked if Shiori dies in place of Hinako... or Hinako dying to save Shiori maybe? The death flags were raised first chapter... and doesn't seem like Author is intent on backtracking.

Do I think it would make sense if Hinako choosed immortality to save Shiori? Honestly yes... her whole story has been about her wanting death due to survivor guilt that's encompassed her in this loneliness and drowned her in desire for death. She thinks reuniting with her family will give her peace... which essentially gave her tunnel vision just like Azami. It's not until Shiori came along that she learned to empathize, to see something aside from her own feelings of loss. And I always thought her arc was that? It's not about achieving death... but moving on from loss? And what could be a better way to say she's moved on from wanting to die than wanting to live by her most important monster's side?

Of course that's me romanticizing things... but maybe there's a way where Shiori can give up being a monster? Magical rules haven't really been established in this world tho. We've only gotten hints of it with glamours and memory tricks? It exists but we don't have set parameters because that's never been the focus of the story.... might feel a little forced if there's some sort of ritual that'll take away Shiori's immortality.

But honestly, if there's a way to give everyone what they want, Shiori becoming the most important person to Hinako, Hinako moving on from her grief (but not dying), and Azami dying by I dunno, suddenly claiming vampire rule of 'If your sire dies, then you die' I'll take it.

I just want Hinako and Shiori to have a truly happy ending.
