I think the MC panicked a little too fast with Pettan sensed that he did something and created a very vast floor with nothing in it. It could damage the reputation of the dungeon.

Then again, I am thinking of the dungeon of something of a business instead of a dungeon and the scouts are like the inspectors if the thing your are trying to do is worth delving.

On the plus side, he did made it a blank floor that could blur on what really is in the floor, but too much trouble before the reward might repel people. MC better make the effect worth it.

What they should do for the hot spring is make it the absolute strongest yet, but if they take the water outside the dungeon, it reverts to the 2nd level hotspring's strength... so there's a real reason to take on the 8th, it's a premium product and the 8th gets the infrastructure and logistical support it requires. Oh, and it doesn't invalidate the earlier floors that way.

I think the hot spring will have the effect of regeneration so that way people that have lost limbs will be desperate to get to it. Also having it be so big and empty is actually to his advantage because the more effort and fighting that people do the more mana he generates so if he has the hot spring move around occasionally them having to spend multiple days fighting and searching will generate him a lot of mana.

Remember that monsters spawn from the miasma naturally and the deeper the floor is the stronger the monitors are so I don't think people would be willing to have children in such a dangerous environment or even be capable of doing that. How would you build a safe village when monsters can appear in the middle of it?

I was speaking generally at the end, if it was at the first floor it could be possible, but these monsters aren't that strong, and with the resources added people could set up camps on the floor to properly rest before diving deeper

Even weak monsters could easily kill children. And because they manifest due to miasma they could just appear in the middle of a village.

While there is no direct time limit to stay in the dungeon, anything that doesn’t move in 48 hours (IIRC… could be 24-72 but somewhere in that range for sure) gets absorb the dungeon according to the web novel. So it’s not an issue for people since it’s long enough that you aren’t going to sleep long enough to get absorbed but anything you try and build down there is going to get absorbed quickly. Same thing for food crops from the outside world. Luckily between our Peta-chan, MC and some of the other characters so far introduced we have some smart cookies so I’m sure that all that space won’t go to waste in the end.
