Though speaking of consistency, it's rather funny that you care about the deaths so much while also dismissing everything as not being real.I didn't forget anything. It just doesn't interest me.
As for the rules of dungeons, this story isn't real; a person wrote the rules to be that way, and they could have written them differently. I'm not interested in reading about people dying for the sake of aesthetics, especially not when those deaths are treated as just the way it goes.
Anyway. The deaths aren't for aesthetic purposes only. They're setting up a narrative purpose. But your dismissiveness makes me think you aren't gonna be able to appreciate it when it develops.
And if you really wanted no deaths no matter what, your hopes were silly to begin with. The story is about a dungeon, not a theme park. Risk of death would be the default expectation; that is just the way it goes. People who aren't prepared for mortal danger shouldn't enter RPG dungeons.
