It's actually adding to the nerves because they talk mainly only in cafe and he is there as a worker, although they had actually 1 on 1 as a customers interaction, but it still was in the safe cafe environment.

We can make valid logical reasons to character actions all day, but everything doesn't matter if the person has anxiety or any different psychological issues. He will be tweaking regardless of logic. I just hope you will be more understanding of people irl then just saying stuff like "get over it, don't be weak" because that won't help in the slightest.
