He very clearly is the guild master though? He just thought that they were regular adventurers, because mages, especially ones as strong as them, VERY rarely sign up, ESPECIALLY ones that are as naive as he is about how things work.

No one refers to him as anything other than a "guild member", so it seems he's just a shmuck.

Anyway, what's with this writing? It just keeps opening new plot points without acting on them any further. I'm not normally the "too much talking!" guy, but this story is seriously going nowhere.
