this is the second time today alone where I see a notice about a manga's release schedule turning inconsistent due to the poor health of the mangaka. As much as I enjoy this medium, it is heart breaking when you realize just how taxing it is on them, so much so to a point a number of mangakas pass away way earlier than expected, or are extremely physically unwell later on in life. Wish they'd get the respect and rest they deserve.

According to what manga tells me, that goes for every job in Japan, black companies everywhere.

Anyway, this is turning into quite the "shuraba" as they call it.

Sadly, it’s a kind of vicious circle with many readers somehow expecting unattainable levels of content production. I read a lot of webtoons, and I’m always baffled to see people complaining that the 60 to 80 frame-long weekly update is “so shoooooort.” Seriously? I know I’m old, but back when I was a teenager, you often had to wait several years to read a new installment of your favorite comic… (I’m talking Franco-Belgian comics, by the way, not American ones.)

........ he was always like that, since before the time leap

what exactly were you expecting here?
the time leap should not just be a gimmick to be used at the beginning and then discarded. He should have an edge compared to his class mates, be more mature.

Manga tropes: lmao no 🙂‍↔️

I mean the other side isn't much better. The MC breezing through everything cuz they know the future and are a full grown adult in high school is just boring. The gimmick should be used a lot less. This is just a free premise to hook you into the story. This chapter in particular felt like you could remove it and nothing would change. But that's not how this works. This isn't the manga to read if you want more original story execution.

I think in many cases it might a bit different - think sedentary lifestyle, holed up in their own rooms, introverted otakus (which generally aren't people being the healthiest ones around) becoming mangakas, sometimes because this might be their only meaningful marketable skill.
Add to that the fact that this career (like most freelance/creative ones tbh) basically requires you to hit a jackpot to have some real stability/wealth (otherwise you are part of the mass that barely scrapes by and is often in way worse situation than typical worker), and you end up with people who already were in kinda meh situation (introverted = harder to sell yourself properly, worse support network, worse health) working themselves into corner trying to score it big. And without plan B/C/D they cannot really stop.

I don't want that sort of Overpowered MC either, but I think I can ask for the more credible traits that someone older would have.

Would it be too much to ask from a TWENTY FIVE years old guy to stop acting like a typical Romcom teenager? Has the author already forgotten he is a time leaper?
Isn't he already acting very mature for his physical age, though?
He doesn't bat an eye when Sara gets too close or makes a move on him, he often even feels uncomfortable. Just like how a proper adult would feel when someone much younger does the same. The typical romcom protag would go blushing with something like that.

He's only different with Hina because she's special to him. It's like, how somebody once said, how a random woman's naked body wouldn't even make your thing react in the slightest (or at least not immediately if she's hot), but just seeing a bit of exposed skin of the woman you love would instantly make you nervous or aroused.

If you were talking about his introvertedness, though, some behaviors simply just don't change with age for some people.
