I hereby re-title this manga as "We're not sharing important information that would resolve a lot of issues, otherwise we wouldn't have a plot?"

I mean... Now we have Merlin's secret stash, but MC wouldn't know about it, because Selen somewhat binds herself to the fact she shouldn't tell about it. From Selen's POV it makes sense, but from the readers' it's just aggravating and a lazy way to railroad to whatever the author is going for.
It's just one excuse after another to keep MC blindsighted in this side-quest, or B-plot, or whatever...

Thanks for the chapter. It has been awhile so I legit forgot about alot of things and had to reread it all again.

This whole arc so far is... just really frustrating. This honestly is starting to feel more like the author simply got bored with the first party members, and is just using this misunderstanding as a chance to write other characters. And its not like the writing isn't realistic. Given the circumstances, all of his assumptions about his prior party members view of him are fairly valid expectations, albeit very shallow ones.

However, it's also something that at this point, can be solved easily with just a single conversation. Its not like he has any real motive to not tell his prior party members what happened to him. He doesn't have to share everything, but a simple "my socially insane master literally kidnapped me, and I only just recently managed to escape from her and finally catch up with you guys" goes a long way.

He doesn't have to necessarily rejoin their party, but he should at least let them know that he isn't dead.

Seriously, I wish this story would just go back to him and his party doing whatever. Even if its not always exciting, it would be better than this awkward arc imo.

He has no reason to not rejoin them and they have no reason to not accept him back.
Maybe if this party was fully business oriented and ran more like a company, AND his replacement was at least equally capable. "Oh we'll keep this random we picked up instead of getting back with our insanely powerful friend" would be lame.
Whole arc and him hiding from them is just frustrating tbh

But then he fools himself into thinking she's just trying to be nice to him like all the other people who acknowledge him. And then he'll forego any romantic interests to instead go train somewhere so that he can one day stop being "useless". The End.
I made this joke 3 years ago and it's become more and more real.
sigh
