Ah, for fuck's sake. Let me guess... Olivia will see how happy she is with Sofia and decides to give up... I hope not... Not only I'm on team Olivia, that would be really cliché... And I really thought this story would do something original with the harem troupe and go for the secondary girl for once. Well... The story is still going... I really hope I'll be proven wrong.

Okay I didn't expect the amusement park to be quite the trauma(?) landmine for Machino. But I'm guessing she has to make peace with the past to truly figure out her feelings for the girls.

I could very well be wrong, but as cute as this was, it really didn't seem like they got particularly closer. There's an incongruity in their conversations. Machino and Sofia were discussing all the things they wanted to do, but at the same time were talking about how Sofia could implement some changes to Celestia. Both can't be true. Can any of them even stay here? Or if Machino chooses one of them does she go with them into the game?

The heroines are all aware of the time limit while Machino isn't. It means there is a certain lack of honesty here. I hope Olivia makes the difficult decision to lay it all out on the line, not just the "I love you" but the more difficult conversation of this whole situation having a time limit.

if any of them were going to step up and say the hard part out-loud, I'd expect it to be Olivia. So I imagine that's where that reveal will occur...plus, she's kinda been left until last, which also indicates that she gets the honor of breaking Machino's heart about what's going to have to happen.

I almost wonder if Machino is just willfully ignoring the writing on the wall. She doesn't strike me as particularly dumb or anything; she knows the game as well, and the story beats and their implications. It would actually be fitting for her character, in my mind, if her ignorance is a front, to keep from having to face the inevitable (or at least what probably feels as such). The fact that she lost her family, and now has a timer on the literal loves of her life leaving her behind as well?
Wanting to get lost in these moments and pretend that the clock will never strike midnight would play into the fantasy of everything happening, in all the layered ways that applies.

(She could definitely have no clue and end up shocked at the reveal, as well; I just think there's an argument for her running away from the truth, alternatively.)

it's going to be Olivia.
She is the one who already integrated into Machino's world and Sofia is going to return.
it's the underlying message here.
also, no harem ending.

I wholeheartedly agree. I feel the author has been laying the groundwork for this the entire time. Olivia adapted to this world on her own. Found a job, secured residency, attuned herself to customs and rules that are essentially the polar opposite of everything she knew in Celestia.

It's been heavily hinted that Night of the Shooting Stars will send everyone back to Celestia. This is just my own headcannon but I think as the Princess, Sofia will be sent back to assume the throne. But Olivia, through "the power of love" or some equivalent narrative device, stays behind.

I think in this kind of story, you need a winner. Setting aside that Machino has already effectively "rejected" Aurora, Luna, and Carla—and Olivia straight-up said she'd only go on this date if Machino chose between her and Sofia, structurally, a harem ending wouldn't work for me.

Reason being that Machino's been spiraling over not making a choice, realizing that avoiding it only hurts everyone more. She's built genuine, deep relationships with each of them individually. So forcing them all to "share" would undo the emotional weight the author spent all that time building. And honestly, the story carries somber undertones with Machino having lost her parents, I don't think the author's afraid to let the other girls go. One writing structure I like is when an author recycles something from earlier in the story but puts a twist on it. Instead of losing her parents again, I think sending the other girls back will hit that same emotional note. Though, this time, Machino won't end up alone finally have an unbreakable bond with someone who won't leave her be it Sofia or Olivia.

May the best girl win!
Thanks for the translation!

"A place [...] where anyone of any class, can, at any time, enjoy themselves to the fullest"
An interesting thing to say about an amusement park, famously very accessible for poor/lower class families
