This feels wack. Mitsuki's lamentations are dumb. From what we've been shown in the story, she hasn't even tried to make things work. Now she's possibly going to get the kick in the ass she needs from a child? Kind of a cheap way to fix drama (if it goes that way).

As much as I hope that Aki will talk some sense into Mitsuki and Aya, I fear he doesn’t understand that Mitsuki is right.

I also fear that his (valid) crashout could have the exact opposite effect of what he wanted and push Mitsuki further into a corner.

And all it takes for things to really blow up is Aya coming in at the worst possible time to hear Mitsuki saying something in a fit of anger/sadness/frustration/pain/depression that she will not be able to take back that easily.

Just occured to me since she put on a music video for the kid, but do these people have any interests besides music?

It's more that music is an interest that all of the main characters share. Aki is still into Bug Rangers as shown in a couple recent chapters, and you could consider gyaru fashion an interest of Aya's.

Technically the statement is true, but from a more mature perspective it's because of differing goals in life (potentially even just being in a different place in life) and/or because the other person just isn't good for you (in a variety of ways).

From the less mature perspective here that we're frustrated about, it's because they cannot talk and have never heard of relationship counseling.
