The other day I tried to assign capital sins to the cats thinking that's what the author was loosely going for but there were some missing meanwhile sloth and gluttony have multiple candidates or candidates that fit 2 at once.
And Kansai has none... she's just silly.

Instead of looking at a western lens how about eastern? Not too knowledgeable about Buddhism tho.

A lot of the character suffers from uncontrolled desire and falling into the cycle of temporary satisfaction and suffering.

• Yani and Aruneko are easy to spot because there are literally controlled by their addictions and earthly desires. They react to the world instead of acting on it.
• Kansai is smart, respected, and considered pretty by people in universe, but she desperately wants to be seen as funny or entertaining.
