Mangadex needs a rule about this. No skipping chapters if sniping a release.

The other chapters exist on other sites. Another group (separate from On A Whim) seems to have released chapters 39-41, just not on MD, which is why this person picked up on 42.

But yeah, FWIW 2 months is not an abnormal pause between chapters especially for an irregular scanlation so On A Whim probably didn't actually drop this or anything. Also even with 21 chapters left since the series is done it's not like it's going to get any further behind.

i don't blame anyone for wanting faster releases. i just wish y'all didn't mtl/ai.

as usual, i've been busy as shit. they took telework a while back so i have even less time than i used to a year, two years ago, and i just got off what i can only describe as a fuckass project. i hopefully have a lighter plate for the next few weeks so i'll at least try to self-commit to catching up to end of vol5 (ch41) and start vol6 asap. i finished chapter 39, so that can go out soon after a final once-over. i sent a message to waffle to see if they can work on the next few while the respective chapters are cleaned up.

but yea, don't blame y'all for being tired of waiting on me.

This hasn't been dropped though. On a Whim has been working on this series for several years and it's only been 2 months since their last release, which they note above has just been because of some life commitments and they're trying to get back into the swing of things. Meanwhile in that time we've now had 2 groups drop and and try to snipe this, including this chapter which skips 2 chapters not posted on here (and I don't care that they're on other sites. A lot of people don't read other sites, they read this one.)

Too cheap to buy volume 5 for higher quality raws for 39-41 probably, 42 is the first chapter in volume 6

Yeah, but afaik there has not been any official english releases, just fan scanlations. As replied by occu of On A Whim theyre still working on it.
This one is a shoddy mtl snipe.

While the effort that went into this specific snipe would have best been spent elsewhere. In general, it is particularly ridiculous to complain if a group picks up a series from the most recently translated chapters, easily accessible on the World Wide Web, just because you have to make 5 more clicks than normal to access them.

If On The Whim chose to purposefully post their translations outside mangadex (possibly part of that protest a while ago where people decided they'd use Cubari for a while), they can't complain when someone from mangadex decides to pick up the manga.

Regardless of their circumstances as well, they don't own the manga. The manga is also completed so no-one is waiting on chapters to be released either.

This idea where people lay "claim" over translating a manga is as always excessive and realistically every time these things happen, the original group pops back up to lay their "claim" again.

Thank you for the chapter, and in the future I would suggest you start with the missing chapters that were not uploaded to mangadex. Even if they were translated somewhere else and yes, if you had posted them they would have immediately posted theirs too. That's just how translation is.
