Yeah noticed that in chapter 3. The author had a clear way to explain to the readers what is going on. Either by flashback or conversation. But instead chose to go nowhere. so now it's a complete mess.

The "everything is fine" mask she's wearing can't stay on forever. From the last two chapters She's clearly not fine and they both know it but can't come out and say it. She doesn't want to admit it and he doesn't know how to bring it up or what to even do to help.

And then we had a chaos goblin literally burst onto the page...

With any luck it'll be a motivation to get those two really talking and not a future drama pull of "she's the happy one you should be with her". Feels like the author is low-key working some of their own stuff out with the industry talk. Gotta avoid that trope bait author you can do it (I hope).

I wouldn't say she's more interesting yet, she's showing more passion and is more lively which is kinda the point of the chapter. Despite how our heroine looks she's also as withdrawn as our protagonist.

We're on chapter 10 and i still don't feel like the plot is going anywhere
The story has the atmosphere of some kind of tragedy waiting to happen
But i feel like it's taking forever for it to pull the trigger
Their character dynamic has been set for a while now
All it just needs is some type of event to happen to progress/regress their relationship

While the Gyaru FMC is obviously the romantic interest, and likely where this will go endgame -- the complaints here make me wonder if it'd be more interesting if the comic focused on the MC getting over his first love through the help of said first love, and for the MC to help the FMC get over the death of her husband...

Well, probably not, since this is a romance, and that'd be pretty unsatisfying!
