I don't know why people don't understand my view, i know that her gender is getting changed but why people still identify her as transgender when her gender changed medically/biology? The transgender that i know is people that trying to identify them self as different gender or species, in this manga her body is changed medically because of a disease and she want to accept her new body.
Please I'm begging you, I need you to look up the definition of transgender in any dictionary.

Some examples

Merriam Webster: of, relating to, or being a person whose gender identity differs from the sex the person was identified as having at birth

Oxford English Dictionary: Designating a person whose sense of personal identity and gender does not correspond to that person's sex at birth, or which does not otherwise conform to conventional notions of sex and gender.

Wikipedia (not technically a dictionary): A transgender (often shortened to trans) person has a gender identity different from that typically associated with the sex they were assigned at birth.

I already looked up the meaning about it on internet before answering that btw, i even asked an AI for more details and they confirmed my perspective on akira is correct, the definition of transgender that you showing to me even saying that the person need to sense and identify their gender as opposite of their original gender from birth, maybe akira look like transgender from that perspective but at the same time her gender literally change without her consent because of disease, she literally trying to adapting her new body not like transgender that their body not feel like the gender that they want to be, they even attempt to alter their own bodies to resemble the gender they desire, even though those bodies will not function like the gender they desire, and now look at akira, her body literally function, even though her gender not the same gender as she get when she was born, she still accept her own body without trying to replace or modify it.

You know what, with that perspective story with genre isekai or reincarnated will look like transgender story if the mc getting reborn or get new body as a female

100% Agreed for this part. This is a key difference from the trans experience. The others in the forum are saying the word "transgender" still applies despite this, as the definition is much simpler than expected and doesn't consider this part.

From the dictionary's definition, both the IRL scenario and this story fit the word "trans".

Also, I appreciate how the forum so far is calm and people have interesting points that are being considered.
But yes absolutely the story is reversing the usual trans story from realisation -> body change to body change -> realisation. Either way, the definition of trans is very specifically looking at only one part. It's been very neat to read the forum so far :)

I know that it's extremely late and it's probably also extremely stupid take, but looking at your comment made me thinking - is the "body change->realisation even fully true? I know, It might not make any sense, but I'm just thinking. Akira changed before puberty and besides typical "litlle kid" experiences she didn't have many "gender" activities. Akira forgot how male genitalia look after two years after the change, there was also this moment when Sahara looked at Akira and got visibly captivated by her to the point he had to walk away (I won't write why, but I think it can be deduced). Akira didn't realize anything is wrong. I mean, can't we kinda compare pre transformation Akira to Aoi in a way? How can someone even be trans by having vague memories from childhood, but not understanding anything about boys (Akira was completely separated from them for a long time)?

I don't know, I'm just thinking now. I of course understand that Akira case is absolutely horrible, but she/he changed at such a young age that their idea of "masculinity" is mainly from cartoons and talks with girls. If Akira changed back, it would be probably even worse for them now then in their childhood. Or not. I don't have any knowledge about things like this. I don't know, I hope it's not offensive, I'm propably wrong anyway, but I wanted to ponder about it for a bit.

I think it's fair to say that Akira definitely has a feminine side/fits as a female. Though fair point.

I don't really think we've seen Akira's reaction to being a boy, as she hasn't spent that much time in a male body... So having a female side + having an unknown reaction to being a boy could mean either Akira's fully trans (fully on the female side), or may be OK with both (meaning some variation of non-binary).

The story maps so well onto the trans experience that it's probably meant to be a trans story, though

Given Akira's reaction to learning about Shouji being to lean even more to the feminine, side I would put my guess on the "fully trans" side, though I totally think you could argue that Akira may be OK with both.
