The last panel is so good, might just be me but when I was scrolling I thought that our mc was still staggering/wobbling in the beginning of the third round, but after you continue scrolling down you see that it's just the perspective.

Kenshin's disrespect fucking pisses me off. He is a petty bicth, like, since Aoba didn't go your way as the "oh so glorified" main character, you can't even do anything but be decent ?
Anyway I fucking like this chapter because it solidifies again Aoba's status as the underdog, and I hope he'll beat Kenshin his way and that this fcker will learn actual respect.

I knew Aoba wasn't going to win but I had hoped that Kenshin would have even the slightest bit of respect for how good of a fight Aoba has fought. The sheer disrespect and arrogance on display really made me want to strike the brat through the screen if I could.

I'm surprised Aoba wasn't knocked out. He got hit cleanly on the temple with a punch he didn't see coming. He should have been out like a light. Orima not following up properly and the bell basically saved him.

I wonder what the plan is now. Aoba was already out of options before. I cant say much about a corner that lets him walk back out like that without a word, though I understand that in the fight world giving up then will give you a bad reputation with the public and might be career-ending.

Hopefully, Aoba stops thinking that he's just there to entertain the champion and actually goes in with killer instincts regardless of how outmatched he is.

I find it funny how everyone in the comments is getting worked up about Kenshin. XD
Being self-centered is what sells fights. Or in this case, the manga through the eventual match with him.

He's also taken Orima's punch before so he certainly didn't see it coming the first time. Or, if that scar was the outcome as is suggested, he did partially dodge it.

Besides, it's the final round, so Aoba might not win the fight, but if he can still put up a fight and survive until the final bell, Kenshin is going to have to eat those words he just spewed about the fight being over, and it can also be considered a pretty good achievement against Orima to lose on score rather than get KOed.

And the courage and preparation is expected. If Aoba had nothing to show at all, Kenshin wouldn't just be annoyed, he'd be livid.

Something that Kenshin doesn't seem to notice and understand is that the ENTIRE bantam weight division respect Aoba. From the champion, the top fighters, old vets, rookies (in fact Kenshin is literally the only top fighters in their generation that Aoba not YET defeated), even his own best friend lol.

I feel like Aoba still has some tricks left up his sleeve. He can barely stand, but he is a grappler - the ground is his favored terrain. His win condition in this fight was never to actually beat the champ either. It was just to give him a fun fight, because winning was never truly possible. I think he can still pull that off at least.

This is the first time too I feel like other people have really got to see a bad side of Kenshin. Even his gym mate was shocked by how callous that was to say. Aoba's a heel, but not even he deserves that much disrespect.

I think its also a seed for Kenshin showing more of this side of himself, as most likely Aoba is going to get a shout out after the fight from the champ, and that'll just piss Kenshin off more. This is likely the beginning of Kenshin's villain arc.

I didn't have my hopes up for him to win. I was hoping he'd atleast leave him with something to remember...like maybe breaking his arm before losing consciousness from a heavy hit. Then he'd win the match but not the war.
