I love forgetting that they use actual meta decks here, instead of always just going for Fun Themes, and then Habakiri gets me with a steel chair from behind.

Honestly a really funny matchup from TCG perspective, since Habakiri was the card/engine to get Fanatix Machinix banned

They make a mistake at the second time Yami took the damage, his LP should have been 1400, not 4700. Well aside from that, that gimmick puppet combo is sickly brutal. Thanks for the chapter as always!

Does Souta have a card to pitch to Murakumo's negate? If he does, I guess Kuroda will tribute the on-field Murakumo with Prayers or Magatama

That was a mistake on my part, my bad, fixed now

Also, note : Ghost Belle isn't on the decklist despite shown in the last chapter and saving Kuroda from the FTK.

Yup, he has one. At the start of the chapter, he had 2 cards in his hand, one being Argent Chaos Force, which he used. Then he added the trap through CXyz's effect, meaning that, unless I missed something, that last unknown card can be used to negate Murakumo.

All roads lead to Habakiri

oh shit I think Souta got too greedy, this definitely gonna end with Mitsurugi Prayers dodge. Had he just blew up Habakiri, Kuroda would be forced to do early Prayers or take 1200 which resulted in 200 hp remaining and thus he can never resolve prayer's 2nd effect

I noticed something interesting about Kuroda that is from his third duel onwards He has been using Ritual Archetypes. We first saw this when he use Drytrons againts Shoma in a locals. Then He show up in the post time skip with his first duel against Souta with Libromancer. Then his duel to qualify as a representative of this tournament was him using Nouvelles. Then finally this duel where he use Mitsurugi.

Honestly, I think he played correct. I think the play was to just hope Kuroda doesn't have Prayers.

Even at only 200 LP. Kuroda would have been able to nuke his board and either OTK or at the minimum pin him, and Gimmick Puppet can't really deal damage through the board, as you would have Purification for Condolence Puppet (maybe the only card that could win) and Murakumo to stop the XYZ summoning. If that comment is correct, he only has one card left in hand and we know it's not condolence puppet, but even if it was and he drew another one, one would be negated by purificaiton and the other by Murakumo. Not respecting Prayers isn't really greed here, his only possible out is Kuroda not having it.

Of course, Kuroda probably wouldn't have made this play if he did have it, as he could have went for the line that found prayers before summoning Murakumo, but again, the only out here is Kuroda misplaying.
