Almost certainly, as he's described as a famous fortune teller who even went so far as to tell the MC that they're not destined for a normal career path. With hindsight knowledge, it's very likely he expected the MC to awaken to some spiritual sense as well.

Yeah, I only really clicked on this to find out just how exactly the Tanuki is ruining his life, but so far she doesn't seem to be at fault for anything?

Honestly I don't know what I would dislike more - her stealing his exam results or him being delusional to the point that he blames all his problems on someone else instead of taking personal responsibility for his failures

But just like with test anxiety, he second-guessed the right answer, erased it, and put the wrong one. Now he's gonna be married to a tanuki / jinri instead of being single and overworked in a corporate job as he's supposed to be.
