That was a big pile of BS, and I pity the TL for having to polish that turd. p63 could have been rendered as "blah blah blah and you came back to life" and it would have made as much sense while being easier to typeset :>

Legally-distinct Masons, aliens, and "quantum" as a fancy word for "we don't have a more interesting means of explaining anything so we'll just handwave it away as something quantum". This was certainly a chapter, and it got past most of the stuff that would be considered boring at least.

You just know she's gonna do something to reveal everything to the public in some way later. That was not the face of obedience.

Answering the question of what caused the kaijuus to appear really didn't need this much elaboration for me. I was happy without the aliens and illuminati sharing responsibility.

Edit: The one thing I like is she doesn't have amnesia. That would be the plot-point I could not bear.

All this conspiracy shit is so absolutely unneccessary. None of it makes any sense and clashes so heavily with everything we got to see earlier.

The soul stuff isn't any better. Just say they figured out a way to use Kaiju-biological material in some way (giving her monster-sensing powers as well). It would be way more in-line with everything else than fucking souls.

Seriously, the underwater exploration feels incredibly tense and is just so much better than the rest of the chapter, i wish it was just that.

The implication is that she had to be readjusted from the dead took 2 years to acclimate her consciousness to what's likely a new and possibly superhuman body.

I feel like keeping it sci-fi of the hollow world as exotic ancient environment with unique evolutionary path is good enough, without all this quantum MacGuffin and Illuminati deep state alien building pyramids shenanigan. Even Konoe revival could be explained with monster cell rejuvenating gene therapy or something instead of area 51 potion.

Now we got all this I fear that we will go downhill deeper than the hollow earth.
