Like the nonchalant genius mcs that dont care. However when your only personality is that you want to live an ordinary life or I don’t care or too much of an hassle to help is just plain annoying lol. I get there trying to hint at a power struggle but he’s just a dickhead lol.

The reasons why characters like shikamaru or even nagi from blue lock are fun to read about is that they have more to their personality than being a non caring genius.

Of course this is only chapter 1 and I could just be talking out my ass but I hope theres more to this guy than just acting like a tsundere(not even a good one) 90% of the time

I'm pretty sure the chapter itself heavily implies that he's trying to protect his brother's position as the successor of the family.

Yeah it's not just Minase getting pulling into the extraordinary, the excorcism stuff. I think it's also Shichijou getting pulled into the ordinary.

Maybe - now that I look at it again, he has been living ordinary sort of. He seems to have friends he studies with... but no contacts on his phone? Or no texts? That's... odd.

Also, the opening montage implies he's good looking and decent enough personality that girls invited him to karaoke. He's not a 'loser' protag.

Thank goodness I'm not alone, he's being an unlikable dickhead for no valid reason

And I've always found that archetype of MCs insufferable as hell, mf acting like he'll get hit with the killing curse from Harry Potter or some shit like that if he gains just a bit of attention from others


He'd probably be the type to let someone get folded by a yokai if that meant that he wouldn't stand out 🤦🏾‍♂️

He might be a genius in the sense if hunting yokai but he lacks emotional intelligence. Being a genius doesn't necessarily mean you're good at everything.
