Hmmm... I have been advocating that Kenbi is annoying, and I still think that... but I knew there had to be something more in there.

I mean... let's not forget... these are kids; I can't be angry at kids in a story like this. Despite being a "sports" manga about dance, this has always shown that everyone is a person; they have their stories, they have reasons for why they are who they are, even the bad sides are just one side of the whole, and that is without considering the depth.

I actually respect the author even more now... I had the suspicion, but without story development I couldn't know how deep it went, but Kenbi is Kabo's foil... so to speak.

There had to be something about Kabo's family life; he didn't talk about them, passing mention or not, and him having a stutter... you don't need to be Sherlock Holmes to infer what can come with that... but unlike Kenbi, Kabo still must have had emotional support, maybe from his mom; maybe despite his father's emotional abuse, it wasn't so extensive or constant that he didn't have time and space to develop.

Point is, that Kabo was able to develop at least somewhat healthy, and when push came to shove, he is able to appreciate new discoveries and not get inflexible with his decisions.

Now Kenbi has two choices, both will have multiple consequences down the line of his life... he can accept the defeat and learn from it... or he can crash down.

Mind... none of them are definitive... he is young, down the line of both he can fail again or find success.

same - hence the translations ^^

On a sidenote: i just know you guys will love this chapter.
Thanks a lot for the effort.

And I don't want to sound ungrateful or like I know you and your limits, but go rest a little... MAN, you gave us a lot, so please don't burn yourself out.

Obviously there is a side of interest on my side because I want to keep reading this, but this community thrives in mutual respect and care between those who are part of it.

Again... thanks a lot, DaMarkiM.

I am really grateful you went out of your way to give us this.

all good.
i basically always am at least one chapter ahead of release. this is mostly for proofreading, but if i ever feel like i just cant get motivated or dont have the time i can basically take a rest without interrupting the release schedule.
in fact i currently tend to actually be pretty motivated and have consistently managed to do more than my goal.
we are currently approaching the chapter that kinda made me want to pick this up in the first place.
so motivation is high ^^

but thanks - i appreciate the concern.

Thanks a lot @DaMarkiM What a good arc's conclusion. I also second alacaelum here, please take care of yourself. Really appreciate you.

On that note, I see where you're coming from, @alacaelum. I know people like that. I also know people, with history, who continue living in their bubbles without batting an eye on who they are, what they want to become and how they treat those around them. All-round toxic, from school, to uni, to currently. For some times, I wanted to see where they came from and empathise or even sympathise. But I can't. Because they are horrible people, that's it and that's all.

I don't know which path Kenbi is on. I always feel bad and sorry for those with childhood traumas and PTSD. At the same time, like you said, he's Kabo's foil.

I'm an advocate for focusing and strengthening your strengths. Since he first appeared, especially this chapter, I've thought Kenbi would have thrived under the idol system, for example K-pop. He has the looks, dancing, attitude, mindset and a behavioural condition where he needs everything to be perfect and spotless by utilising all available resources.
As a kid, I used to think of dancing as being the best, the coolest, not just a dancer copying but ultimately, a choreographer. "Creators" are the focus of this manga. And the world of dance is wider and much more than that.

Yeah, it is a difficult thing to deal with, a part of us wants to try to help, at least empathize, but... as important as emotions are, we can be swept up by them, too.

There is a practical side that needs to be present; the need for change should be accompanied by the desire for it too.

And just because you have pain in your life, doesn't just excuse everything we do, there are choices in life, sure... sometimes those choices are made for you, and you are swept into a stagnant state of being a terrible person... but people still have the power to act of their own volition.

And we too have the right and option to choose that trying to help may hurt us, so we can choose not to engage.

Life is a complex web of connections; in the end, we can only live with our choices and consequences, however they come to us.

I like how empathetic you are.

At the same time, choosing not to engage may also mean you tried, but nothing happened; Or other variances. Sometimes, it's the person. And yes, no one can change you but yourself.
