What I was trying to get at was that what initially got her to like him, was just simple animalistic lust. There was nothing special about what he thought of her at the start, nothing different than what her past flings had thought of her.

It could have been anyone she got together with.

The author now going "Actually, he was NOT just a horny animal" after the fact does not change that.

What got Kokoro to like Taiyou is the fact that he is honest. The gyaruo types just smooth-talked her and were insincere the entire time. She only went with them out of loneliness. Taiyou fell for her big boobs at first sight, yeah, but he really thought she was cute, and he is genuinely smitten with her. Heck, she had to seduce him before they did anything. He really was planning to send her home.
