On the contrary, the fact she so enjoys receiving praise from her classmates makes me feel like she doesn't get praised much at home. I slightly know how that feels.

My grandfather is the type of person who seldom gave praise when I was growing up, only criticisms, yet I still wanted his approval for many years until I got tired of working hard to earn his praise. And when I did receive praise from other sources, I thrived off of that.

Again, that's just my personal opinion and theory and could easily be wrong
