I'm gonna give a minority opinion and say "stick with Ability Users." The world building is still early and we don't know if those other terms end up being more accurate to other specific types of Ability Users (or rival tradition) that may be introduced later.

Might be worth researching what other stories/franchises out there have used the Japanese term in question, and what words translators for those stories/franchises used. At a five-second glance at Google, it looks like A Certain Scientific Railgun uses the term in some capacity.

Also: Sad trauma, still shitty-as-hell behavior. I'm amazed she's just sat there and taken as much of his assholitude as she has.

I feel like you're being WAY too harsh on him.

He doesn't want to be drawn into being an exorcist (and SOME of his reasons are good). He doesn't want to be her partner in her lifestyle.

He DID go out of his way to introduce her into the PROPER way of doing things, exposing his family and his past, and he WANTS to get her an enthusiastic competent partner! A real asshole would not have done any of that.

I feel he's making the less altruistic, more selfish choice, but that's NORMAL. Asshole requires you to do MORE harm or least be MORE detrimental to others in attitude.

Yeah, the only thing he did that was assholish was intentionally being rude to her to demotivate her, which was directly after going out of his way to set her up properly, too. It hurt her feelings, and I'm pretty sure he hurt himself, too.

Not a fan of how that went, but I'm waiting to see how this goes down.

what when was he "intentionally being rude to her to demotivate her"

he was "intentionally rude" to try to make clear that he doesn't want to be exorcist with her and live a normal life.

While i get that he doesnt wanna do this because of the family and not wanting to take the head position from his older brother the way he gone about pushing her away was really an asshole move even HIS family know she looked lonely and what does he do be a fucking ass i really hope he gets some sort of trouble to make him feel how shit he was to her there
If he has trauma connected to being a exorcis , it’s completely reasonable for him to not want to return to that life.

He doesn't owe her friendship or mentorship just because she wants to follow the same path and is lonely.

And
pushing her away
ignores the fact that he offered to take her to the place where ability users can learn and train, and is trying to find a proper guardian for her.

Someone having trauma, loneliness, depression, or other mental-health struggles doesn't create an obligation for another person to become their friend. Friendship that exists because someone feels morally obligated to provide emotional support can become unhealthy for both people.

Ability user seems fine, but if you really want to shorten it Esper would be most accurate. It's literally ESP'er. Which is someone with a sixth sensory.

Yes. Demotivate her from talking to him. It did work. None of your words disagree with mine.

Thanks for the translation!

Medium is not a good choice, it wouldn't be surprising if the story at some point in the future features people who have the ability to let themselves be possessed by friendly yokai in order to exorcise other yokai that are then referred to as mediums.

Psychic is also out for the same reason in my opinion, it's way too likely that an actual psychic will show up and the term is way too loaded.

Esper would work, but I feel like it might be too associated with psychic powers nowadays.

Adept could work, but like esper it might be too associated with a specific practice that might show up, in this case magic.

I feel like something like sensitive or aware would work best, a term that refers only to the ability to percieve the supernatural, not any specific type of interaction with it. Or just stick with ability user that works too imo.

Having trauma is one thing but the so called trauma is legit i don't wanna take my brother place which is valid reason for not wanting to be an exorcist but not really traumatic per say since legit no one did shit to him other than wanting to make him the head ( at least not shown or implied yet)

He doesn't owe her friendship or mentorship just because she wants to follow the same path and is lonely.
at least he owe's her and more of the way he did he knows she is a loner and class and she told him about what happened and even his family noticed how she felt and not wanting to be friend with her is one thing but acting like an asshole just to push her away was his choice there was plenty of ways he could've even take his time a bit and make her give up in a better way even become friends for a bit and not be an exorcists but this was his choice
And

ignores the fact that he offered to take her to the place where ability users can learn and train, and is trying to find a proper guardian for her.
this offer is valid but had he dealt with her better there could've been a way like he could've refused and gone with her another day he put himself in this trouble himself and now wants out in the worst way possible the city center can be visited again and she cant just put his name alone without him approving that is not how it works in almost anywhere

dude legit other than said so called trauma about not wanting to take his brother place dude didn't have anything not even boredom he was living his life and even enjoying it i dont know why mentioned something that has nothing to do with this as example when it is not mentioned anywhere that he is dealing with anything other than him not wanting to take his brother place which keep in mind he can still refuse now that he is older .
also i would like to add what about HER trauma this is the first time she found someone like her since she was a child who everyone assumed was crazy
EVEN HER MOTHER
(see next chapter) and yet the moment she found someone like him who gave her a bit of kindness after finally she was not alone she would latch onto him like a baby duck unlike him who has known this world since he was a child she didn't, and she knows him as a classmate who is of the same age and found her of course would want him instead of a stranger.

Esper would actually fit the generic naming as all the different classes of "ability users" are seemingly united in having extraordinary perception, where esper comes from. If you want to have your own Eotena Onslaugh translation, you could go with something like Bounded/Border Crosser/Boundaries in keeping with the theme or go with with AbUsers for the wildest abbreviation of ability users. I'd say esper or medium would flow better though. Gifted or Sighted could also work.

MC also seems like he is on the spectrum between being autistic, having anxiety and simply being Japanese. And the lack of mom is probably involved.

Yep, I officially hate this pathetic excuse of a man that's supposed to be the MC

That backstory did not justify the way he treated Minase in the slightest, if anything it made his reasoning that much dumber

Fuck this guy....
