The MC is kept as generic as possible for a reason, and part of making him generic is having the same basic bitch nameless isekai protag backstory.
This part is why I dislike isekai manga in general. Thankfully the world setting in dachou is fairly interesting (1:1 geography with Earth and the LV.999 region being in South Africa) and it keeps me hooked.

Honestly it'd be fun if the little ones got adopted, but it's probably too much for their wild sides. The group might fare better as nomads who spend time roaming between the friendly cities and the southern lands for food?

That's part of the reason they do it, and it's not just in Isekai. A generic, or rather a stereotype/archetype being used as the MC lets the author focus more on other aspects of the story without needing to really care much about fleshing out the MC in their own right. Often the MC is not seen as the important aspect, they're merely the convenient method of delivering the story and a useful framing device.

Isekai and genderswap are honestly just massive manga/LN writing crutches in general as mentioned before, but in this case the MC would have no reason to approach humans otherwise and I can't see how one would get the plot going without a isekai mc in a relatively light hearted manga like this.
Anyway, waiter, waiter! More isekai slop, yum yum yum!

Bro what?? That's such a stupid sexist comment???
There's literally no difference in writing female protagonists? Just make them female? Like she is completely fine as she is and she didn't need to be male before? Girls can't be straight forward? Have you ever talked to a girl?
If you can't write a female protagonist then you're just a shitty writer? It's just a skill issue.
WTF is this gross sexist comment?!?! Disgusting wtf? Do you just hate women?
really ? its not sexist it really HARD write female character come on man its everything we say in internet is wrong? Many author like kishimoto and haruki got hate because they create female flat or one-dimensional female characters. i see woman as special and unique character only woman themselves can understand to create. . . i see woman as special but you see i am sexist . . . really. that why mangaka or novelist hire female assistant to help them creating good female character. nope its reality Editor in japan always strict about female protagonist in novel and manga. and for man character you can always one dimensional motivation for story (well as people say Men general motive always simple)

Rationale for genderswap is simple, and there is an audience that can appreciate it even when it's completely inconsequential.

Reincarnation makes sense since otherwise Reisu wouldn't be civilized. The little ones didn't even speak till Reisu started talking to them iirc

The gender thing really doesn't make a difference (so far), but it adds another thing the writer can mine later if they want
Now i wanna know how Breakfast came to be.

Sometimes I wonder if there was even a point making the protagonist a reincarnated character, much less a genderbent one.
For a setting like this, the reincarnation adds to the "I dunno how to handle this" factor I imagine. Same with the genderswap as a cis woman would be expected by the reader how to childrear.

Genderswapping in general adds conflict to story for something if you never know what to do.

Thanks for the chapter! Good to see that the little ones are growing. This series would reach a narrative dead end fast if Reisu always has to bring her flock kindergardners along.

Just as the other readers I also don't understand the point of genderbending the protagonist. Until now it served zero purpose.
