So there is a epilogue...
I'm hoping for the best, it was a very good manga but I feel like the final chapter missed the target a bit...like the mangaka was rushed or something happened and we didn't get everything the author wanted to say.

I guess it never clicked for me that Yuuyake could be that old. Wasn’t she shown to be a kid at the same time as Yuusuke? Like that’s how he got hurt, two kids playing with heavy machinery. Does that mean that at the time she chose to look like a kid?

I wonder if that’s why the romantic undertone is so subdued.

I loved this story. Hopefully someone picks up Bakugatari zzz

Given the note about places that experience time in different ways it seems very possible that she was about the same age as Shinozaki but is now much older.

Had the same impression.

The "places where time passes differently" leaves open the possibility that time is not perfectly linear for mages; she could as easily have been in a place where time didn't pass, or in another where it went super quickly, and then she came back to the "normal" world.

It is actually a subtle, interesting, and kinda funny (considering how late it came) piece of worldbuilding.

The author also mentions Big eater dude is now younger than his youngest cousin, so it does seem like some kinda time dilation effect is going on.

Makes me think of the hyperbolic time chamber in DBZ which is a little nostalgic.

I think the argument may be that as a child she lived in a place where time goes faster. Y'know, 10 years there is 5 years outside type thing. I think that's a far more pleasant interpretation than "yuuyake was magically a child for 40 years". Especially considering that she was acting as a child then.

I mean, having your kink revealed to the public during legal proceedings and being part of historical record would give you issues.
