Aw, poor little philo.
I desperately want the author to give philo more of a voice in the series. She sort of has just been along for the ride alongside Lavi for awhile now. I really would love her earnest perspective on things because for too long she has been getting all sorts of character development "off screen" or in flashbacks, while her actual, current self just sort of wanders around the story.
It has been a while since we got to see philo have space to be herself, which sucks because we now know that so much of her character is just her masking and putting up a front to cope with her own issues.
Acting all arrogant and haughty with Lavi? He is just the first person she didnt feel intimidated or threatened by and could actually act competent around. For once she didn't feel like the biggest loser in the room. He was another loser no one expected anything from but he kept persevering, which I imagine looked incredible to her since we know now how insecure she is about her abilities and doesn't think highly of what she is capable of, while struggling with her own unique skill.
All her perviness and goofy teasing? Just an awkward, naive attempt at emulating the casual confidence of her sister and master who she knows are considered far more capable than her. All her posturing in front of Lavi is genuinely her just trying to act like someone she thinks is capable and confident and admirable.
It would be great to get a peek at her perspective to all of this. Or foxy girl-failure is a little dumb but she still has to have so many thoughts about it all, especially since her and Lavi are a couple now, although I now wonder if Philo knows that.
Idk, i love these silly characters and want more of them. It pains me that we seem to be approaching the end of the story.
