Holy crap! Communication! Yay! I was expecting this to drag a few more chapters at least, but nope, they talked the very next chapter. He laid it all out there for her to hear. He was vulnerable. She heard his issue. And she is going to stay there and listen to him fully. Although, we already know she has a thing for him and wants to get to know him better so this works out.

i think, in this whole chapter, the most telling thing that she views Reiya differently than every other girl was her calling him “Tohno-senpai” rather than ”Rei-sama” like every other girl in the school. I’m actually surprised Youta didn’t pick up on that, but I guess with his emotions being all over the place it would make sense.

He should also have been noticing she was there waiting because she wanted to see him. If she were truly after his brother her mission would have been accomplished as she got close to him to talk and she would have ditched Youta…but she didn’t.

All in all great chapter with a lot of character growth from our MC while getting over his trauma that every girl is after his brother. You love to see it.

She should be the one to push the relationship imo, I don't think he'll be fully fixed even after this. It will be funny also if she's the one to do it since she's the oblivious one.

Wow. What a really good chapter. The first thing it did that was needed as clarifying there wasn't really a "misunderstanding" in place. The MC knew Houjou wasn't one of those girls only trying to use him to get close to his brother. That the primary problem was him mad at himself for not being able to shut away the illogical fear is great. That's a real problem. Our brains learn to recognize patterns & behavior and then does what it can to keep us safe. In the modern world that's often related to social behaviors and means we learn to avoid things that cause us emotional pain. It's not always great, but it's hard to move forward. What's important here is the MC wanting to move forward and choosing to open up about his insecurities rather than pushing Houjou away to protect himself from an irrational fear he knows doesn't apply to her. The ending of this chapter in particularly is really good. We don't need to hear the full exhaustive conversation because what's important is that he's choosing to have it and she's patiently listening to him. That's peak.
