Good Morrow! ( ˶´ ᵕ `˶ )🌷

Sorry this chapter took a little longer than usual! I've been a bit busy lately and haven't had as much time to work on it as I'd hoped. Thank you so much for your patience! .·°՞(≧□≦)՞°·.

But hey!! We're officially kicking off Volume 6 now! We're getting closer and closer to the end... 👀 Are you ready for the finale? Any guesses about how things are going to wrap up?

AND HEY. WHO TOOK THE GIRL'S LOVE TAG OFF?! ୧(๑•̀ᗝ•́)૭

Sayaka actually reached a limit of yearning that i didn't expected, holy moly.

That's sooooo interesting, god damn! Do everything you gotta do to get the love of your life, type shit. I'm very curious in how Kurumi will treat all of this, that's a looot of stuff to unpack in such a rush, but i will hope for the best! (If that's possible)

Only more 7 chapters to go!!! Oooof i don't want to say goodbye yet...!

[edited out for being so dumb. I was just shocked to see a man y'all TT]
Also, resetting your memories just so you can keep loving your crush? That's crazy! But tbf who's normal in this manga anyway?

[nothing to see here, folks]

Nvm, I reread it carefully and the guy is giving them shelter in exchange for sex. Makes sense. And she really was renewing the residence permit though. She wasn't exactly lying 🥹

Gotta tell you folks, Back during the days when I read this, in my own language, I never thought that these twists and turns would be as intense as they are now. But here we are.

I love how they just skip from the moment of brevity and security to the big game battles. It feels like absolutely no panel in this entire manga is wasted, and I just adore it to bits.

The most interesting part is how Kurumi actually made friends with her and formed an alliance. This could lead to an entire group teaming up to protect Sayaka and Kurumi because they deserve freedom and happiness together.
We know how powerful Sayaka is, but the familie has also passed generations and we don't know just how powerful they are. I wonder how far Sayaka will go if the facility wants her contained at all cost...
Was she sleeping with a man to get her urges solved? 😭 I guess she needs to get laid too. But why het in a Yuri manga 🥹 (she's probably supposed to be bi but it could have been gayer :< )

Are you sure that's the case?

Okay then, I actually saw this comment right when it's posted and felt the need to clarify.

That's... damn. She gave herself the same condition as Kurumi. The difference being, she knows what's going to happen going into it.
Can you imagine that? Going to sleep,   knowing that when you wake up, days... months... years will have flown by.

Sayaka's decision is very romantic, but also very dumb. It's like the blind leading the blind, even if she leaves her future self some notes.

To be fair, no one can properly remember their predictable day-to-day life for one week ago, let alone months and years. The only probable downside is that Sayaka can only record these through words and not photos, so the notes from the past aren’t as vivid, but it’s nothing, really. It’s not like their lives are to be disrupted in the near future, right? Sayaka has made sure that they’re away from prying eyes. This is what a predictable and conservative lifestyle gets to be. Whatever they want to do, they can do it in a day, and they can have the novelty while at it.

But alas, Kurumi found the book, the note and the passport, and she will try to get away, putting Sayaka on the defensive. It’s terrible when giving a multi-day chase with people who will try to knock her out unpredictably, but it’s all gives and takes anyway. She did try to control everything in her favor, and she really nearly succeeded.

Okay. I know I am going to sound like a puritan, and this might get a lot of bonks, but I have serious reservations about this plot point. For a story that's so dedicated to showing the horrors of bodily autonomy and the importance of free will, Sayaka having to sell her body gives me an extremely bad taste. We've gone through, like, numerous chapters where we're hammered in that the girls are analogous to the trapped seals. They're forced to be bred like cattle for the future of humankind; their bodies are the machine, and the children are the product. Hell, even Kurumi seems grossed out by traditional reproduction!

Why should the reader be preached about free will, when Sayaka is essentially punished for leaving? It just feels like an incredible letdown that even Sayaka cannot retain her bodily autonomy after she left the institute. I understand "freedom is not free," but this seems more contrived to make Sayaka miserable. Even Kurumi says that she's disgusting! There's no resolution to what she's done; Kurumi pushes her away, and the outcome is... everyone should forget about it? After arguably one of the most traumatic things someone can do: giving your body because you had no other option? I'm genuinely confounded what the angle was. Was it to hammer in a point that's been nailed down so hard you can see the shank through the table?

I'm not arguing that horrible things can't happen to characters, but I hope I can at least say it was well done or made sense. I hope it sticks the landing, or someone can elucidate for me if I am missing something.

Edit: Just came back to say that it STILL pisses me off. Sayaka’s last memory is her being coerced and Kurumi calling her disgusting. She has to relive that day, like, everyday because she can’t retain anything else after. Don’t get me started on how I feel about the seal plot line or that creepy rape-y Russian man.

I too am really not a fan of the revelation that Sayaka has been sleeping with some sleazy dude for months ONTOP of paying money while she was living with Kurumi all this time.
