Honestly, I don't get why they just didn't ask for her help in the first place since she would probably have all the material at her home. And why both don't ask for her help on tips or just reviewing what they are doing since they are all part of the club.
Well for the context of this chapter, Yuuki got lost in his own negative headspace (p. 22), which is a consistent character flaw present in past events. That's why Niina was the one who phoned in help of the other three (p. 25).
As for the "why not have Koi-chan help out more in general", I imagine that kinda ruins the whole point of achieving their goal of become serialized mangaka through their own efforts I guess? My take is that the challenge presented this series has always been an emotional one to overcome, which we see as our cast here continue to grow as characters, through their present flaws n' all

I mean when he got his draft ruined and found the stores closed. Like I said, Koi-chan probably has everything they need at her home. And it's not like Yuuki and Niina didn't already consult with professional artists while being their assistants. I'm not saying they should go to Koi-chan's home get her help every week but show their drafts and ask for opinions not only on that but on ideas and such during manga club hours. What they even do in the club then?

Two hours sounds realistic, for a pro of course XD
Kubo would pull that in under 2min... by not doing almost any background :dogkek:

Koi-chan draws digitally. This was a minor plot point back when she was introduced: she wanted Uehara as an assistant but he had never done digital before, and at the same time Miyamoto got picked up as an assistant by an analog mangaka and she had similarly never done analog, so they had to teach each other the ropes.

Okay TECHNICALLY she does do rough drafts on paper, but she does the real thing on a tablet, so it still stands to reason that she wouldn't have tone sheets since she does that part of the process digitally.

He was on top of things, and then had all his work ruined -- given that his sore spot is his shitty art, it's kind of hard to swallow that his success may be because others are redrawing his work. :pout:

Ok so listen.
Koi-chan gets Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Miyamoto gets Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and every other sunday.
That's the only thing that's fair.
Uehara after that schedule:

That mysterious object she found on p10 is a 土偶 (doguu), which is a strange type of clay figurine people in what is now Japan made thousands of years ago. No one knows what they were for, but they're always stylized in idiosyncratic ways and many seem to have had limbs purposefully broken off, so most researchers think they were ritual implements of some kind. So far they've found well over 15 thousand of them in archaeological sites all across Japan (except for Okinawa), and the oldest date from about 13 thousand years ago, when pottery was still relatively new to humanity.

If this stuff is at all interesting to you, you should also look up Joumon pottery, made in Japan during the same time period. Some of it is truly bizarre, with an impractical level of detail that is shocking considering their age.

Good point! Your paying better attention to the small details than I haha
I wouldn't be surprised if this is brought up next chapter, with Koi-chan workin on those backgrounds n all. (But as a professional serialized author, no doubt she can manage.)
