From what I've read about Japanese convenience store clerks and how mistreated they are, I imagine there's tons of clerks like Yuasa. Customers will verbally abuse clerks and force them to apologize over the smallest things and owners and managers just let it happen because Japanese culture is insane when it comes to respecting hierarchy. Some will even make them do dogeza and video the apologies. Some prefectures have started passing customer abuse laws to combat it its so bad
