Kitahara amazes me. If I did the same thing he had, saying something to someone whose care I was responsible for, and realizing that I was ultimately responsible for the misery they were suffering due to it years later, I don't think I could have recovered. At least not as quickly as he manages to. He almost immediately picks himself up from the guilt, because the alternative is letting Oguri hurt longer.
